SORT BY Relevancy
The industry's most talked-about mega resort graces 6.3 million square feet on the Boardwalk and stands 47 stories tall--and the resort's size isn't the only thing turning heads in Atlantic City. We're here to bring you an inside look at the sweeping ocean views, fabulous restaurants, a 13,000-square-foot casino and the other gorgeous aspects of Revel.
On this month's Constructing Casinos, we'll be talking with three key players of Revel. We'll hear from Tom Sykes, partner at SOSH Architects, Mitch Gorshin from Revel, and Michael Prifti, managing principal at BLT Architects.
This show is a follow-up to the article written in the June issue of Casino Enterprise Management magazine. To read that article, click here.
On this week's edition of the Casino City Gang, Vin Narayanan, Dan Podheiser and Aaron Todd discuss WSOP bracelet winner Darren Woods, who is headed to jail for cheating in online poker games, a new Bitcoin poker site that won't hold your currency for you, Faraz Jaka's "homeless" lifestyle, as profiled by CNN Money, and the possibility of Revel in Atlantic City becoming a water park. They'll also take the week off from making NFL picks (since there aren't any to make) and bring back their weekly best bets.
Tsunamis, earthquakes, world wars, nuclear disasters, and upheaval in the Middle East - could it be we are living in the final trumpet days of Revelation?
In his new book "Final Warning: Understanding the Trumpet Days of Revelation", Pastor Carl Gallups gives us a clear look at the stunning visions of the Apostle John as found in the seven trumpets of Revelation and compares them to major events in the 20th and 21st centuries - the rebirth of Israel, the Chernobyl meltdown, and more?
Tonight we explore the supernatural.

Casino City's Dan Podheiser, Aaron Todd and Vin Narayanan talk about PokerStars cancelling its previously announced rake increases, a New Mexico man incorrectly thinking he won $500,000 on a lottery ticket and the second-place bidder in the Revel sale now saying he doesn't want the Atlantic City resort at his original offer price. Plus, the Gang picks the four NFL Divisional Playoff games against the spread.
Casino City's Vin Narayanan, Aaron Todd and Dan Podheiser discuss the odd reports surrounding Wynn and money-laundering controls, the buyer that was supposed to purchase Revel in Atlantic City backing out of the deal and PokerStars getting into the online casino business. And as usual, they close the show by picking every NFL game against the spread.

lIVE CHAT: Black Friday Sales, Turkey Thanks Giving Now Christmas
As with Native traditions in America, celebrations - complete with merrymaking and feasting - in England and throughout Europe after a successful crop are as ancient as the harvest-time itself. In 1621, when their labors were rewarded with a bountiful harvest after a year of sickness and scarcity, the Pilgrims gave thanks to God and celebrated His bounty in the Harvest Home tradition with feasting and sport (recreation). To these people of strong Christian faith, this was not merely a revel; it was also a joyous outpouring of gratitude.
If there is one day each year when food and family take center stage, it is Thanksgiving. It is a holiday about “going home” with all the emotional content those two words imply. The Sunday following Thanksgiving is always the busiest travel day of the year in the United States. Each day of the long Thanksgiving weekend, more than 10 million people take to the skies. Another 40 million Americans drive 100 miles or more to have Thanksgiving dinner. And the nation’s railways teem with travelers going home for the holiday.
Despite modern-age turmoil—and perhaps, even more so, because of it—gathering together in grateful appreciation for a Thanksgiving celebration with friends and family is a deeply meaningful and comforting annual ritual to most Americans. The need to connect with loved ones and to express our gratitude is at the heart of all this feasting, prayerful thanks, recreation, and nostalgia for a simpler time. And somewhere in the bustling activity of every November's Thanksgiving is the abiding National memory of a moment in Plymouth, nearly 400 years ago, when two distinct cultures, on the brink of profound and irrevocable change, shared an autumn feast.

I don't usually do this radio show on Fridays, but this episode and the scheduling kind of directed itself...or spriit directed it. I woke up on 4/3/14, with the feeling that "tomorrow", 4/4/14 has significance....that there was a message "hidden" in the date numerology...and to look for it. So I googled....and there it was: Philllipians 4:4-14, a glorious message! Here is only a portion (it won't all fit in the alloted space):
"4 Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! 5 Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute! 6 Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. 7Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. 8 Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. 9 Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. 10 I'm glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess..."
As always, calls will be taken for on-air intutive readings for your best spritual steps right now. Please join this celebration!!
Casino City Editor-in chief Vin Narayanan joins host Aaron Todd and Dan Podheiser live from Las Vegas to discuss the latest news from the Global Gaming Expo (G2E), including Las Vegas Sands Chairman Sheldon Adelson's rant against Internet gambling. They'll also discuss the sale of bankrupt Revel in Atlantic City for a discount price of $110 million and the new "Spin and Go" hyperturbo tournaments at PokerStars. They also wrap up the show by picking every NFL game on the Week 5 schedule.
