    A Constitutional Right to Dignity

    in Politics

The closest the Supreme Court has come to embracing the anti-humiliation principle is through its use of the term “dignity.” This link should be intuitive—what, after all, is the opposite of “humiliation” but “dignity”? Ackerman recognizes this nexus, but his discussion of it is tantalizingly brief.26 He acknowledges that the link between human dignity and the anti-humiliation principle may be unfamiliar to American constitutional lawyers, given that, in contrast to other jurisdictions, our constitutional traditions are built around the concepts of equality and liberty.

Warren was simply calling upon judges, and the rest of us, to make common-sense judgments about the prevailing meaning of social practices. One of the greatest legal thinkers of the era, Karl Llewellyn, persuasively argued that judges couldn’t decide the most humdrum case without relying on this capacity, which he famously called “situation-sense.”It was Louis Brandeis, not Thurgood Marshall, who first used social science to convince courts to consider the real-world impact of their doctrines. As early as 1908, the Supreme Court relied heavily on his famous “Brandeis Brief” in upholding maximum-hours laws for women. During the following decades, the law schools became centers of sociological and economic critique of the regnant legal formalism The Anti-Humiliation Principle and Same-Sex Marriage Kenji Yoshino

    Can we trust our government

    in Entertainment

It seems like another skeleton falls out of the United States’ closet every day. Whistleblowers are coming out of the woodwork, and the government is struggling to keep the scandals contained

In 1996, Gary Webb, a writer for the San Jose Mercury News, published a series of articles known as “Dark Alliance.” The articles detailed how the CIA turned a blind eye as Nicaraguan drug traffickers sold and distributed crack cocaine in Los Angeles throughout the 1980s. It also described how the Reagan administration protected drug dealers from prosecution.

US Army Private Bradley Manning is responsible for what some have called the biggest leak of secret military data ever. His actions also helped put WikiLeaks on the map, as he provided the organization with hundreds of thousands of classified documents.

Among the things Manning revealed were:

    • A secret video, nicknamed “collateral murder” that showed US air crew laughing after killing dozens of people (including reporters and civilians) in an air strike.
    • Detailed records of the civilian death toll in Iraq (even though the military repeatedly said there was no record). Out of 109,000 deaths logged in a six year period, 66,081 were unarmed civilians.
    • US Soldiers committed horrific acts of torture on Iraqi prisoners, and despite hundreds of filed complaints, authorities never investigated.
    • US defense contractor DynCorp was involved in child trafficking.

Currently Manning is being imprisoned by the military and is facing 21 charges, including “aiding the enemy,” which comes with a life sentence. Yes . . . Manning is in jail for exposing the US government paying a company that sold child slaves.

Gentrificationomics: Self Government vs Government Insecurity

    in Real Estate

On "It's My House" we shall continue our talks on Gentrification Literacy.  We shall take another inside look at Gentricationomics, which are the economic factors that lead to a community becoming gentrified.

Communities and households that are "self governing" do not get gentrified...........however households and communities that rely on the government for "security" usually end up with "government INSECURITY".

The Re-Education of Black People on Government & Economics

    in Radio

Based on 'Unlimited Education' Research many of the problems that plague Black People and other minorities in the United States is the overwhelmingly low understanding of the value of understanding and participating in the Political Process, as well as the value of understanding and participating in the Economic System on an Entrepreneural level.

The value of Government Education, Political Science and Economic Education must not continue to be underestimated, if Black and White People are to solve the problems of Black Poverty, Lower Quality Education among Black People, Drugs, Alcohol, Crime, Violence, Police Brutality, Mass Incarceration and others...

All of thise problems, in part, are directly or indirectly related to Black People, as a whole, not asserting their political and economic might to influence public policy and their inability to fund and support their own endeavors, due to low Entrepreneurship and a lack of understanding of basic Economic Principles. Way too many Black People fail to pay adequate attention to what is going on in politics and economics and way too many simply don't believe in the Political and Economic Systems. They don't believe they were designed for Black People, consider them corrupt systems or systems of White Supremacy.

These beliefs are, of-course, the product of conspiracy theories that have some, but very little basis in fact, as I will point out in this rather short broadcast, which is designed to deliver some very basic, yet valuable information on the structure of our government and economic systems in America, as they affect African-Americans and their relationship with White Americans.

The Government Is Yo Baby Daddy!

    in Politics Conservative

In this episode I am going to go through the Moynihan Report and a book by Jason Riley called "Please Stop Helping Us".

These two items deal with how government programs like welfare have done more damage than good to the African-American community as a whole.

How is that more than 50 years ago only 1 in 4 Black children were in fatherless homes and today that figure has just about reversed?  Today more than 70% of Black children live in fatherless homes.  This has to say something!

How is it that many blacks continue to make excuse for the bad behavior in the culture.  You see when it comes to crime rates, high school drop rates, and government dependency, its not about them doing something to us.  Its us doing it to oursevles.

O Ye Drybones : government sponsored segregation THE KERNER COMMISSION

    in Current Events

In Baltimore in 1910, a black Yale law school graduate purchased a home in a previously all-white neighborhood,The Baltimore city government reacted by restricting African Americans to designated blocks. Explaining the policy, Baltimore’s mayor proclaimed, “Blacks should be quarantined in isolated slums in order to reduce the incidence of civil disturbance, to prevent the spread of communicable disease into the nearby White neighborhoods, and to protect property values among the White majority.”Thus began a century of federal, state, and local policies to quarantine Baltimore’s black population in isolated slums—policies that continue to the present day.In 1968, following hundreds of similar riots nationwide, a commission appointed by President Lyndon Johnson concluded that “[o]ur nation is moving toward two societies, one black, one white—separate and unequal” and that “[s]egregation and poverty have created in the racial ghetto a destructive environment totally unknown to most white Americans.” The Kerner Commission (headed by Illinois Governor Otto Kerner) added that “[w]hat white Americans have never fully understood—but what the Negro can never forget—is that white society is deeply implicated in the ghetto. White institutions created it, white institutions maintain it, and white society condones it.”When the Kerner Commission blamed “white society” and “white institutions,” it employed euphemisms to avoid naming the culprits everyone knew at the time. It was not a vague white society that created ghettos but government—federal, state, and local. In 1917, the U.S. Supreme Court found ordinances like Baltimore’s 1910 segregation rule unconstitutional, not because they abridged African Americans’ rights to live where they could afford, but because they restricted the property rights of (white) homeowners to sell to whomever.

    Liberty is not about Government

    in Religion

Among the more dangerous thoughts we can have about human government is not that we should be free from it, but that it should ever have had charge over us at all.

?What man was given, from the outset was a responsibility of self-control...and obedience to God. But though "God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions", including the many forms of human government.
