This mission is makeover takeover!
Restaurant: Impossible designer and part-time ninja Taniya Nayak turns the tables on us and takes over the show. It’s all hands on deck when we’re joined by Restaurant mission leader, taskmaster, tough guy, chef and sharp business man Robert Irvine.
And, because no makeover takes shape without tools, tear-down and terrific work, contractor Tom Bury of Division9 – Design takes a break from his round-the-clock makeover run to talk construction.
And, one marital issue is resolved, when we both agree that we should finally replace the front door to our 100+ year old American Foursquare. This brings up a new issue of deciding on the type/ kind/features we want for the door. The solution? Well, we’ve been using a program on Therma-Tru’s website called My Saved Doors, which helps us share our door ideas with each other. Also, we’re trying to stay young without finding The Fountain Of Youth by stocking up on a new antioxident-rich drink, Modjo Life.
This message will NOT destruct in 30 seconds. It’s all happening on this week’s MyFixitUpLife.
Taniya Nayak, host of HGTV’s 'House Hunters on Vacation' and designer for Food Network’s 'Restaurant: Impossible' turns the tables on Mark & Theresa to interview them on set. Mark and Theresa also talk with the show’s general contractor Tom Bury about the show and his company Division9 – Design + Construction. And it’s all hands on deck when we’re joined by Restaurant mission leader, task-master, tough-guy, chef and sharp businessman Robert Irvine.
On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable reviews Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation! Could this be Ethan Hunt’s most impossible mission yet? Is the franchise only getting better with each successive entry? Has Christopher McQuarrie succeeded where John Woo supposedly failed? Did he manage to top both Brad Bird and J.J. Abrams? Could Rogue Nation be the best pure action film of the summer? Are spy films undergoing a renaissance this year? Who should be handed the directorial reigns for the IMF’s next cinematic outing? Is Tom Cruise getting too old to play the lead in this series?
The roundtable will also be reviewing Ant-Man! Is the troubled history of the production evident in the final product? Would Marvel Studios be better off right now if they would have let Edgar Wright have his way? Just where does Scott Lang rank among his MCU counterparts? Is he a first stringer, or a bench-warmer? Is the film a pleasant surprise, or is it the first real chink in Marvel’s seemingly impregnable armor? Now that phase II of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially come to a close, how does it stack up to phase I?

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation
You sure get your bang for the buck with this one. Tom Cruise, as durable on screen as any movie star could be, and his team deliver an action packed espionage thriller that’s so eye popping you hardly notice you have no idea of why they’re really doing all that stuff.
Perhaps the funniest thing about this silly sequel is the shock and horror some are expressing in its wake. I’m not saying I didn’t cringe watching some of the stuff that happens in this movie; I’m also not saying I didn’t laugh out loud a few times, too.
Nothing is impossible! There are steps to take that will make it possible for you to experience your most impossible dream - and then when you actually have the experience of what you have dreamed about, then you will KNOW if this is what you want or not. Beforfe you listen to step 1 - take a piece of paper and write out what your most impossible dream is. Then listen to the show and find out what the first step is.
in Self Help
Join us in this segment of "Empowered in Every Call" discussion on The Phoenix Rises!
We have discovered that is a legend about a mythical creature that can regenerate and self heal after a fiery ending that seems impossible to come back from, the phoenix. The phoenix is a beautiful bird that has a cycle of life, death and rebirth. It is said that when the phoenix grows weary it builds a special nest, then stands in it and is consumed by fire. Out of the ashes of the old phoenix a new phoenix is born, rising with the morning sun to live again.
As humans we tend to look upon endings as a tragic event that comes with a sense of permanency. That once you have stumbled upon an ending you can never go back, you can never recapture what once was. Endings can make you believe that there is nothing beyond the finality of it all.
The good news is, as humans we are also a regenerating creatures, much like the phoenix. We have an amazing capability to self heal. Our endings often come with new beginnings. However, to reach those new beginnings it is sometimes necessary to burn off everything that once was to start anew.
What is that saying, “when you reached your rock bottom, you can only go up from there”? Or what about, “you can never change things by fighting the existing reality; you only change them by building a new model that makes the old model obsolete.”
Whenever I have an ending in my life I draw upon the energy of the phoenix. It serves as my guide to help me through my endings and into the morning sun! I ask you to do the same and find comfort in knowing that all endings come with new beginnings.
As the phoenix rises so shall you!
According to Ephesians 6:11 We are to put on THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD so that we may be able to STAND against the devil and all of his tricks! Remember The 3 Hebrew boys took THE STAND for GOD and told the king, let it be known to you that we are NOT bowing down to you or your laws and ways. Daniel had to face a tough situation because he would not compromise and Stood for GOD,(allowing GOD to show up in an Impossible situation). And there are many others we will look at in this episode and by the end you will be Made To STAND too! NO COMPROMISE! NO COMPROMISE! NO COMPROMISE!!!
On this week's ScreenPicks Movie Show, we review four new films. First, we'll review the National Lampoon's Vacation reboot starring Ed Helms as Rusty and Christina Applegate as his wife. Then we'll look at the fifth Mission Impossible film with Tom Cruise called Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Next, we'll discuss The End of the Tour with Jason Segel as David Foster Wallace. The film also stars Jesse Eisenberg and Anna Chlumsky. Finally, we review The Best of Enemies, a documentary about Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley.
Hr1 Useless facts, like... Did you know a porcupine floats in water?
Jobs report. Yep, still no good. More layoffs.
Xander Gibb brings a little Xandermonium to the show. Liberals, Cecil the Lion, abortion, Planned Parenthood, word police, and political correctness run amok.
Hr2 University indoctrination? Do you know what your kids are learning? Trust me, it's anti-American. Steven Crowder does man-on-the-street.
Politicizing comic book heros. Superman says #blacklivesmatter. Iceman and Green Lantern are gay. Really? Can't we just let kids be kids? Political indoctrination.
Discrimination: Indian restaurant fined for trying to hire Indian waiter. Oh the horror!
Hr3 President of the National Organization for Women (NOW) Terry O'Neill says, "Moms love Planned Parenthood."
Feminist man embraces open marriage for his wife. Further erosion of the marriage foundation. I guess marriage "vows" don't really matter if you change your mind.
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
1. Ever had someone stay with you that was nearly impossible to get out?
2. How old is too old for a child to still be living at home?
3. Could you date someone that still lived wit mama?
Buckle up! find a place to relax, we're back Family
...LET'S GOOOO!!! =)
