Hope, Service & Responsibility: A Path to Happiness

    in Relationships

You are listening to Happiness Index and we continue to deepen our conversation on Happiness. We will be sharing our views on hope, service and responsibility as a path to happiness.  We will explore views expressed by Vaclav Havel, former President of the Czech Rebubic on hope.  Vaclav Havel said,  Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism.  It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.  A Course in Miracles reminds us that happiness is our choice and that the only thing we need do for vision, happiness and release from pain of any kind is to say these word and mean them with no reservations.   I am responsible for what I see.  I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide on the goal I would achieve. and that everything that seems to happen, I ask for and receive as I have asked. Our conversation  today will be on hope, service & responsibility as a path to happiness.  Thank you for listening to Happiness Index on Blog Talk Radio.  Join us in this conversation and be the change you want to see in the world, call (347) 539-5818.

LOTL Welcomes Grammy Winner Melissa Manchester debuts ' You Gotta Love The Life

    in Music

The buoyant title track opens the album with Gershwin/Tower of Power-inspired horn fanfare and gutsy, autobiographical lyrics. “I wanted to lay claim to my version of a show biz song,” she says. “‘You Gotta Love The Life’ is really that macro- and microcosm, realizing with time and maturity that talent is only the point of departure. Talent is that central nugget, but it’s the reality of the life and the grind that you face every single day. You have to be okay with this version of normal and it’s really not for anybody who has any reservations.” Lead single “Feelin’ For You,” which goes to radio on January 19, is a snaky, flirty tune with electrifying guitar work from Keb’ Mo’ and demonstrates how even a brief conversation can serve as a jumping-off point for a song. Years ago, Manchester was approached by a drunk in a juke joint. She rebuffed his advances but took home his rejected response of “Oh, that’s too bad because I got a feeling for you.” “I thought, ‘I can write that song’,” she recalls. Citrus College, where Manchester is an honorary artist in residence, provided her and co . Manchester co-wrote “Other End of the Phone” with the legendary Hal David, marking theironly collaboration and his last lyric

The Vaccine Debate: African/Native American Plight

    in Politics

We talk about vaccines in a variety of ways on this show. But how does it effect minorities in the way of vaccine reaction ? Would you be able to recognize a vaccine reaction ? What part does the pinael gland play with the MMR and African Americans. I will be talking in theory.  I am looking for a study that would discuss it. There have been 22 thousand studies regarding vaccines - how many does the CDC show you ? 161 . Cherry picking it sounds like to me. Let us have a open discussion. I believe the population effected should be within the leadership of getting the problem fixed. That has not happened. Time to call in and let me know what you think. 646 716 7259
