Historian Heather Voight talks about her new book, "Passionate Crusaders: How Members of the U.S. War Refugee Board Saved Jews and Altered American Foreign Policy during World War II."
About Passionate Crusaders:
Passionate Crusaders tells the gripping story of a few righteous Americans who sought to do what many thought impossible in 1944--save Jews who had not yet been murdered in the Holocaust.
By January 1944, Treasury Department officials Henry Morgenthau, John Pehle, and Josiah DuBois had already convinced President Franklin Roosevelt to create the War Refugee Board, an agency with the authority to provide rescue and relief for Jews and other groups persecuted by the Nazis.
Scholars have criticized the Board for its inability to save more Jews and maintained that the agency should have been created sooner. Heather Voight's groundbreaking research proves that despite its shortcomings, the War Refugee Board changed history and forever altered American foreign policy. Its creation ended the cycle of indifference that the government and the American public had shown to victims of the Holocaust. In the words of Henry Morgenthau, from 1944-1945 "crusaders, passionately persuaded of the need for speed and action" risked their reputations and sometimes their lives to save Jews.
In addition to saving more than 100,000 lives, Board members also made a lasting impact on international law. They pressured the War Crimes Commission to broaden its definition of war crimes by including the murder of civilians by their own countrymen. This new definition of war crimes was applied to genocides committed many decades later in Bosnia and Rwanda, and continues to be used today.

OK, I have to re-re correct myself, for it was stated before the grand jury indictments, that State's Attorney Mosley had indeed accomplished this at the time she read the charges against the BPD6.
I was wrong, but only because of the errant reporting by the media.
In the meantime, have you read about how Baltimore is practically spiraling out of control?
38 murders so far in May, the worse is 15 years? Including the execution-style slaying of a 31-year-old woman and her 7-yeaer-old son?
Black Lives Matter? Great for a wall-hanging slogan, but apparently, for the lot of us, that's as far as it goes.
Any protests? Rallies?
As the trial of the BPD6 approaches, are the BPD partly to blame? After all, the reports are that they're either too demoralized or afraid, to carry out their sworn duty as police officers. According to the head of their union, the BPD is "more afraid of going to jail than getting shot">
MAYBE this is the best argument for a mandatory residency policy for all municipal workers, including (especially?) the police?
Do the DOJ's "investigations" send the wrong message, emboldening the criminals, while demonizing and neutering the police?
Yet, what is the proper manner of reacting to what many believe, are too many killings of black people, at the hand of police?
No matter how you slice it, "Houston", we've got a big problem in Black America.
P.S. To the police of Baltimore or anywhere:
Do you are so presumptuous to maintain that under no circumstance, are police to be held to accountability, rebuke or scorn, and that the people who you pledged to serve, are completely out of sorts, when conditions may lead them to be suspicious of the intent and actions of scores of your colleagues?

Wisdom Chapter 10 in the Apocryphia Books.
What did wisdom do for Adam, Cain, Noah, Abraham, Lot, Jacob, and Joseph? How did the Israelites benefit from wisdom? "Wisdom gave speech to those who could not speak; she even caused babies to speak clearly," (Wisdom 10:21). Wisdom is the very breath of God, God's power breathing in His people that brings His people life and not death. It is a benefit of all God's people to get wisdom and understanding, it is humanities life saving power.

From Robert Freeman, "I was once a well conditioned and idealistic young police officer who wanted to help and protect people and after many years in that profession I came to understand things are not quite what there seemed. Unltimately my police career ended and I am now a retired policeman in a continual fight for my entitlements as a sufferer of PTSD and the clinical depression which accompanies that change in my human function. I am an Australian male born in 1960 in a large rural town in the south eastern area of this country. My father was a sportsman and trucking contractor while mum was a nurse prior to the commencement of the family. I am second of four children and the eldest of three brothers. I joined the police cadets as a 16 year old in 1977. I was a country boy and city life was completely foreign to me. The saving grace was we lived in an old 1930's hotel near the main railway station in Melbourne. I loved the cadet training. I excelled in most all the aspects of this training and while I completed and graduated high school from the cadet academy I was also voted as the Senior Cadet. My first real notable experience came in the latter part of 1977 when after we had returned from a tour of Tasmania. I had a strange experience there I had what I would describe as my 'Jesus' experience. This was about the 20th August 1977. I felt there was a presence in the room (I was alone in my room at the academy this weekend after our trip, and I felt the urge to give my truth to Jesus Christ). I was not a religious person as such and I was not made to attend church as a boy growing up. The story about how my police career came to a halt and what transpired during the period leading to that and the occurrences which followed are intertwined and quite interesting. Suffice it to say my life was in the process of an irreversible transition".

I will be 50 years old next year.
I lost 30 pounds last year and I have another 30 more pounds to go, and I don’t want to wait another year to lose the next 30.
In my past I was willing to starve, use OTCs, exercise 3 hours per day, etc – ALL the unhealthy stuff, to get an UNSUSTAINABLE outcome. Back then, it was all about how I looked. Exercise was not a health strategy; exercise was the necessary torture to achieve a swimsuit body. Nutrition was all about calories. As long as I stayed under 1200, it did not matter if they all came from sugar and french fries. Any weight I lost was un-sustained. For me, a yo-yo was not a toy. It was my way of life. Anyone reading this can relate?
Last year, I bought a Fitbit, and I did Pastor Rick Warren's The Daniel Plan. I shared that with you here on Debt-Free Wealth Radio. However, those efforts and strategies that helped me lose 30 pounds, are now only working to maintain my weight. I am ready for the FAB dimension. Such a place exists. I used to live there.
That is why I became a Beach Body Coach. No! I am not asking you to check out the business opportunity, that is not why I joined. I was frustrated with the luke-warm gym goers, I could not find others like me who took their progress seriously. I realized that those who did, were becoming fitness and nutrition coaches - so, I decided to join them.
I am responsible for my my life, so I strategically create my environment for success, because you can't trip over success - you need to create it for yourself. Instead of seeing myself as a Beach Body Coach though, I see myself as a Tutor, one student helping another. In helping, I reinforce my skills and confidence moving me to my next level while helping you get yo

Objective: To walk in the same manner as He walked.
Memorize: 1 Corinthians 6:18
Read: Romans 3 & 4
A) Purity & the Mind
what does Christ say of impure thoughts? Matthew 5:27-28
List the things on which we should think. Phillippians 4:8
Why does the human mind not want to think on these things? Romans 8:7
How, then, do we obtain victory over impure thoughts? Galatians 5:16
What else should we do to avoid thinking impure thoughts? Romans 13:14
Anarchy; a misunderstood concept, associated with violence, chaos and disorder, a word which the corporatemedia manipulates to suit their agenda. “I call myself an anarchist. What I am saying that I recognize the evils of the world, I understand who is responsible for them, and I refuse to be complicit.” “It was not the anarchists who dropped nuclearbombs on innocent civilians,” “It was not the anarchists who invented the gulag. The anarchists were not responsible for the extermination of the Jews or of the killing fields. We did not enslave the Africans or intern the Japanese. It was not in protest of anarchist atrocities that drove monks to burn themselves alive.” We are told that without government, there will be blood on the streets. But the facts speak for themselves: throughout history, it is politicians who have sent civilians to die in wars they wanted no part of, forced humans to kill other humans. We’ve got it all wrong, argues Anarchris argues. “Government is chaos.” “These horrors were carried out by groups of elite who maintain that human beings must be controlled. It is the anarchist who sees this and says, I will not be complicit in your sins. When you come to these realizations, the question is not why choose anarchy, but why choose government?
