Pentagon To Propose Shrinking Army, Scrapping Some Jets: Report
Speculation has begun on who the Repubs and Demos will choose to ride their white stallions into the Battle for the White House. Mainstream media, print media, Fox, CNN and the other cable networks are busy polishing their crytal balls. My fellow bloggers and podcast politicos are flooding social media and every known outlet with their visions of the perfect match up.
Well, now it is my time. Join me "In the Pickle Barrel" as I give you my best semi-intelligent guess on who the contenders may be and who wil mount the magnificent steeds for the battle to call the White House home.
Join me each and every weekday from 7AM-8:30AM EST at www.BlogTalkRadio.com/inthepicklebarrel
What in the world is going on? Take a long weekend and everything goes crazy!
Governor Perry being booked today for on felony charges. Democrats getting ready for "impending impeachment" of President Obama. The State Police take over Ferguson, Missouri. THe State National Guard moves into Ferguson, Missouri. Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell's ethics battle with State Attorney General Alan Wilson evaporates.
Perhaps the most amazing event over the past few days is the Southwest Border Crisis and Israli and Hamas issues have apparently been resolved (at least they are no longer news worthy).
Join me this morning at 7AM-8:30AM EST as we take a look at the issues of today.
We discuss issues of the day Call to listen or ask a question 646-378-0821. Different opinions welcomed.
On July 5th, we had an wonderful discussion about the conservative view. This conversation helped us to understand what the conservative view is. We also discuss the historical contexts, critical dialogue about current policies under our administration, what is politics and the rise of black conservative.
It's been said that one should never talk about politics as well as religion. However, a wise man once said that religion reflects the culture and culture reflects the politics. With that in mind, in the U. S. there seems to be two major divisions of thought in the arena of politics.
On this follow-up show, we will continue to probe these issues with our returning guest co-host and contributor, Thomas D. Smith. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 or you can download the WLUV Radio mobile app today. Any way you can, join us.
The events of the past few days reminded me that racism and prejudices are still alive and well in America.
Some of the conversations I have heard makes me wonder if we have made any headway in this centuries old battle, or should I say curse. It seems everytime I think we are making the turn in the right direction another "Ferguson" pops up and ruins the parade.
This morning we are going to have a discussion on racism/prejudices in America.
Do I expect to solve the issue in just ninety minutes? I wish! However, perhaps we can better expain where and why they exist and then go about our day with a little hope.
I hope you will join me "In the Pickle Barrel" at 7AM-8:30AM as we make an attempt to face some realities.
Yesterday's program was so intense we ran out of time to complete our conversation. So, this morning we will continue where we left off.
Are incidents like the riots and actions of the those who loot, torch and injure others in these events releasing years of pinned up frustrations; are they nothing more that criminals who found an opportunity to go wild; Are they a victum of "mob mentality"?
How would you react if "a Ferguson" happens in your community?
Jump "In the Pickle Barrel" this morning at 7AM-8:30AM and let's see if we can explain why we are in the pickle barrel.
Senior Political Editor Dr. Jim Picht will be talking with Communities Business Editor Terry Ponick to discuss why the wheels inside the beltway have ground to a stop; its not about what is right or wrong. They don't really care about the children on the border. Politics, getting their party re-elected and not losing seats are really what's important to your elected leaders. The discussion will start with the recent immigration bill that gave Dems what they wanted, plus one thing they did not - a medical device tax that would have Dems losing support of big business in key states.
Dems would have you believe otherwise, that they are the compassionate party that cares. Yep - but they care about the same things Republicans care about - not losing the power to obstruct the other side inside the beltway.
Communities writer Paula Carrasquillo, author of Escaping the Boy: My Life with a Sociopath will be discussing violence toward women, specifically the recent actions of Baltimore Raven's Ray Rice and if the punishment fits his crime.
The show will close with a conversation with Jerome Elam, an internationally recognized advocate for the protection of children from sexual predators. Mr. Elam is a survivor of sexual trafficking and predators in his home and town.
Join us at 7:15pm EST 2 talk about the NFL, Mo’Ne Davis, and Texas Gov. Perry’s indictment. Then our guests, Jonathan LaGrone & Dr. Smith-Missouri community activist and a police officer to discuss the Michael Brown shooting, what’s next for Ferguson, Missouri and the National Guard. Call us at 213-943-3655.
I know it is still very early to predicting who will run for President of the United States in 2016. Even more so, It is downright silly to pick frontrunners for the election.
Well, let's be bold (or silly) and take a stab at a possible frontrunner list as of today. You may be surprised by who has not made my list (for now) to make the Lucky Seven List.
Join me at 7AM-8:30AM EST and we will compare my list to yours. Enter the chatroom or call in at 1-855-236-2486 to voice your opinions.
No matter how you look at it many, if not most, of the social and economic issues in the "Deep South" directly relate to the poor and the impoverished as a result of being under educated and the hopelessness that comes from such a life.
There are several movements throughout these areas and the nation to turn the tide by improving the educational systems now in play. Nowhere is this more evident than in the State of South Carolina.
Tuesday morning the entire show will be dedicated to the issue of education. The good, the bad, the ugly and the new in education will be examined. South Carolina is one State experiencing such a movement. Public Charter Schools, such as VIrtus Academy of South Carolina, is just one of several schools hoping to open their doors to students in the 2015-2016 school year. Business leaders, community leaders, as well as, education leaders from surrounding colleges and universities have been working together in Florence, SC, the Heart of the Great Pee Dee Region, to prepare for their hearing before the State in a quest to obtain perimission to open their unique Public Charter School.
The process is long and full of obstacles. In fact, the process itself is full of politcal bumps, misunderstanding on what is a Public Charter School, the new teaching/learning methods and new laws that are dampering the hopes of many in the State. But, this is not true in Florence, SC.
Joining me "In the Pickle Barrel" will be members of the organizing group, a State Representative or two and several concerned citizens who want to see Virtus Academy become a reality.
You can join in the conversation thru the Chat Room or call in at 855-236-2486.
LatinoTalk Texas, hosted and produced by Lauro Garza, is independent political analysis, news and interviews important to Latinos in America. On today's show, the terrible genocide in Iraq and Syria caused by ISIL and they must be attacked in my opinion. Again, the on going struggle against immigration reform by the Tanton Network and how that effort controls politics in America against the benefit and welfare of Latinos in America. Rick Perry and Rand Paul struggle while Latinos suffer.
