Goodbye Erotica, Hello Jesus! -- Write Stuff -- 2-2-2016

    in Entertainment

Erotica sells. There's no doubt about it. The book can be good, okay, or terrible, but if an author simply puts the word 'erotica' on the cover, it garners sells. I know many of us have read erotica at some point or another. People like the spiciness, the gratuitousness, and the excitement it brings.

Today's guest on the Write Stuff has written erotica for several years. A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Shoshanna has captivated audiences with her sizzling stories that many say take your breath way. However, on November 11th of last year, Shoshanna sent a personal message to her fans...she was stepping away from writing erotica or erotic romance.

Join me as Shoshanna shares her testimony about why she said "Goodbye Erotica, Hello Jesus!"  You can call in at 646-668-8485, press 1 to be live on air. Or, click on the link here: http://tobtr.com/8262909  Tune in!

    Relationship Rules

    in Relationships

"Before you find that handsome prince (or beautiful princess), you get to kiss a lot of frogs—and some are really CUTE ones." (Anne Wondra)

How do we find that prince or princess? Why do we want to find that person? Does it really matter if our relationships are healthy if we find just the right one?  Why is it important to know who you are as you seek out that relationship? How do relationships in general impact all parts of our lives and how we show up in our purpose? These and other questions about "Relationship Rules" will be discussed by Purpose Talk Radio guest Anne Wondra on the show Friday, Feb. 12, noon PT/3 p.m ET/8 p.m. UK.

Anne is a soul coach, a wisewoman, writer, muse, and creative entrepreneur. She is the author of a new Kindle eBook, Relationship Rules of a Happy Woman. Anne shares life with her husband (of 26 years) Michael Robichaud and their furry feline family. She loves life, laughter, art and animals, nature, music, beauty, morning walks, sunshine and beaches, and coffee at coffee shops; she’s an aunt, a vegetarian, and everyday goddess. Anne recently wrote a book called "Relationship Rules." In it, she lays out questions to ask yourself as you seek out and build healthy relationships.

"I don't know if all women have relationship rules. Mine developed over time. And looking back, they have contributed much to the happy woman I am. And more importantly, they made life a lot easier and much more fun along the way."

You can join the discussion live via Skype or calling 347-205-9074. All shows are archived so you can hear the discussion at another time if you are not available during the live airing.  You can participate in the discussion live or archived at Purpose Talk Radio Conversations on Facebook.

Eternity in their Hearts -- Write Stuff -- 2/9/2016

    in Entertainment

I think missionaries don't receive as much credit as they need to. After all, most missionaries leave their homes to go into other countries to spread the Good News. Some people find themselves in cultures that are vastly different from the ones they left.

In particular, there are those individuals who go on missions to places where there isn't a drop of running water in sight. The people they are trying to reach congregate themselves as tribes with rituals and customs we in the developed world may find strange, unusual, and downright horrific.

The modernized world would say these people do not need religion to mess up their way of life. They've existed like this for a long and don't need our help. Yet Jesus commanded us to go into the entire world and preach the gospel. Why?

Murmurings of a Mad Man -- Write Stuff -- 1/12/2016

    in Entertainment

For this edition of the Write Stuff, I have the pleasure of showcasing John Kaniecki, author and poet.

John lives with the reality of bi polar mental illness. This condition has had a great impact on John's life and his walk with God. The ailment began when John was twenty years old and continues to this day. With proper medication John functions fine. However it was a great cross to bear initially. An overwhelming one. Now twenty eight years later reflecting back John can appreciate the lessons learned from the struggles.

The book, "Murmurings of a Mad Man" are poems that are reflections from a time when John was committed to Graystone Psychiatric Hospital. At that time many who should have been sources of support simply vanished. Alone in Dorm Sixty Two, John came to grips with the serious of the problem. This came with the full realization that only God can solve our greatest problem

    Somewhere I Belong -- Write Stuff -- 1/26/2016

    in Entertainment

Years ago, there was a movie called D.A.R. Y. L. about a robot who resembled a ten year old boy built by the government. I watched the movie as a kid and I always loved the song that played at the end. It was called Somewhere I Belong by Teddy Pendergrass. The song depicts what the majority of the movie is about...where can an artificial boy can belong in the human world.

Belonging. It's something we all long for. Loneliness is not usually a choice a person choose to be. Most often, a set of circumstances may happen to where loneliness becomes the only option for some individuals.  Loneliness isn't the same as having alone or 'me' time. That often gives us a chance to be communion with the Lord, bask in his presence, calm down life and recharge. But loneliness was never part of God's plan.
