Is Nicki Minaj a good role model for young black girls ???
The emasculation and effeminization of our young men is just as real in the year 2014 as the masculinization of our young women are.
Anyone who doesn't see it manifesting more with each passing year has either stuck their head in the sand or is severely blind.
Overall our young men are slowing but surely morphing into girls with a docile demeanor that makes one wonder if they've ever had any dealings with that thing called testosterone at all.
But not for a growing amount of our young women, they seem to have found that magic elixir that the boys couldn't find that gives them a bull-like aggressiveness that make the guys seem like little girls.
What in the world is happening?
But aside from that, what has caused this mass cross wiring of the sexes in our communities right up under our noses and seemingly overnight?
Is it because of a hijacked youth culture where the celebrities play the pied piper role in their style of dress which challenges the traditional expectations of what a man and woman should wear?
Or is it really something chemical from the huge amount of hormones dumped into our food which sets off a chain reaction within the body to manifest in what we see as all too common?
Might it be the result of our unchecked spiritual disciplines gone wild as this has trickled down to our children as in the sins of the Father visiting the children?
Maybe it's a combination of all three of these factors and maybe it could be something completely overlooked.
But nonetheless, things are definitely going too far and we need to pinpoint what it might be before these dysfunctions get the best of our community and reduce us into nothingness!
I believe that this is a conversation that's long overdue!
Join us for 'Monday Morning Joy' 2 10:00am for real life situations and challenges. One of our blog contributors (D. Dudley) shared in a recent blog post the following: "It can happen anywhere, at any time, and it is important to make sure all girls and even boys are educated on the dangers of it. Young girls today are not aware that human trafficking is growing and in some cases improving its craft. Some girls may not even be aware of how close human trafficking might be to where they live. As our society evolves and as people become more corrupt, human trafficking has become more present. As unfortunate as it is, while many girls think that it won’t happen to them, anything is possible in the world we live in today. Young girls today don’t realize that they put themselves in dangerous situations every day. Men AND women in this world take advantage of young girls and while someone may seem like they have the best intentions, often times they don’t.
We live in a time where danger lurks around every corner. As unfortunate as it is, women today have to be cautious in everything that they do. While it is okay and praised for a female to be independent, women should not mistake being ignorant to danger for being independent. No one is saying that women today should live in fear but to live with caution. It’s true that dangerous situations can happen at any moment no matter how cautious you are, but the more cautious you are the lower the risk of it happening to you."
Join us as we talk about our part to eradicate this social ill and others.
Research has shown that 140 million women and girls worldwide have been affected by Female genital mutilation (FGM) and of these, 66,000 were in the UK. It is estimated that up to 98,000 girls in the UK are at risk of being cut.
The World Health Organisation called for the elimination of FGM 30 years ago and the practice was made illegal in the UK in 1985 (with an update in 2003 that made it an offence to arrange to have it performed outside the UK on British Citizens), however there has not been one conviction.
Professor Hazel Barrett of Coventry University believes that this community-based approach is the best way to tackle the issue of FGM worldwide. Despite being a human rights abuse, the practice goes largely unreported amongst the diasporic communities in which it is practiced. Her unique approach to this issue includes working with practising communities to understand the barriers to preventing FGM and using the results of their research to try to change behaviours within communities.

As Berger's novel moves back and forth from Vilna to Brooklyn, the focus is on Rosha and Mira as well as on Charlie's sister Jeanette. All three attempt to make sense of a life that often makes no sense at all. VERDICT: In this engaging debut, a semifinalist for Amazon's annual Breakthrough Novel Award, readers gain three different views of the effects of World War II on ordinary people.

Despite the title, bitterness is the dark driving force in this stirring debut novel of Holocaust survivor guilt-guilt about being safe. Told with candor and tenderness, there are two parallel stories of Jewish girls-one a teen, one an eight year old- from the same family but worlds apart during WWII.
Hazel Rochman, Booklist
A Jewish girl in Eastern Europe and her teenage American cousin experience the Holocaust years in vastly different ways in this bittersweet novel.... A tender look at immigrants in America and Nazi victims in Europe succeeds in educating and engaging readers.

What does it take to be a woman? The message from 14 year old music artist "T-Star", is that a woman must have brains and self respect, which is the true reflection of beauty. As a High School Freshman, she produces music videos that promote self esteem for young girls, and encourage them to focus on inner beauty as well as outer beauty. With a Grade Point Average of 4.8, and all Honors classes, T-Star is focused on her future as a businesswoman. She creates lyrics and choreography for her music videos and entertains her peers with a message that is wholesome, uplifting, and motivating. She discusses the importance of self esteem among young women and how elder women can set a good example for the youth. She explains how her music is setting a new trend for young women who are often misguided by derogatory videos that exploit women.
Bars and clubs are some of the worst places for (most) guys to find and meet new girls they don’t know.
Think about it logically; you go to a loud, dark place, put behavior altering substances in your body, approach and initiate conversation with a girl you don’t know and have no information about, all with the intent of trying to quickly gain her trust so you can have sex with her?
If you presented this situation to an evolutionary biologist, they would laugh at you and wonder what this guy did to you that you’d torture him by putting such an unnatural and difficult obstacle in front of him. Why would they laugh at you?
