The Mission Is Remission:
Pat Williams' book is filled with encouragement, insight and realistic hope. If you are battling cancer, or know someone who is, this book is a must-read.
Pat Williams’ world changed in January, 2011 when his doctor completed his physical with the words, “There’s something in your blood work we’re not sure about.” Pat was diagnosed with a rare and incurable blood cancer, multiple myeloma.
As one of the millions of people to have experienced cancer, Pat first asked “Why me?” After calling on his faith, his family and his fighting spirit, Pat asked, “Why not me?” Williams’ mantra became "The mission is remission." After rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell treatment, he succeeded in the fight of his life: the myeloma can no longer be detected in his body.
In THE MISSION IS REMISSION, Williams shares his story and the six essential healing factors that helped him win his battle.
Basketball hall-of-famer Pat Williams is the founder and senior vice president of the NBA’s Orlando Magic.
Williams is the author of over 85 books. He and his wife, Ruth, are the parents of 19 children, including 14 adopted from four nations.

She received her B.A. from Harvard University, and did her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, where her dissertation focused on the Radical Remission of cancer, which is a remission that occurs either in the absence of Western medicine, or after Western medicine has failed to achieve remission.
The Radical Remission Project, which she founded, is an innovative website dedicated both to collecting new cases of Radical Remission for research purposes, and to connecting Radical Remission survivors with current cancer patients. Her new book, RADICAL REMISSION: The Nine Key Factors That Can Make a Real Difference, encapsulates the fascinating findings of her research.

Tune in as Dr. Annise Mabry and best selling Author Sharon D. Smith talk about the Pink Promise, Breast Cancer Awareness, and community resources for not only Cancer Heros but also their support systems.
"Today marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a time when we celebrate all of our Cancer Heroes and the fight to end this disease. I get excited about this time of year because it gives me a chance to fulfill the many promises I made to my wife, LaShundria Dansby Smith, just before she died in 2012 from an aggressive form of breast cancer. I have not failed on any of those promises and I don't intend to.
You don't know the strength and courage it takes to travel this journey unless you've been through it yourself. You don't know what people are going through behind the smiles. This month, I encourage you to reach out to your friends, family, coworkers, etc and talk with them about breast cancer. Know your risks and get your mammograms done. If you need information, inbox me. Love up on somebody who may be going through therapy right now and celebrate those who are in remission.
We have to let breast cancer know we don't fight fair! With all of our resources, research, and progress made in the last 10 years, we're slowly kicking breast cancer in the azz! You can join the fight, too. Every day, I will tell you how." (Sharon D. Smith, Facebook Status Post, Oct 1, 2014)

Dr. Amy Hermon-Taylor grew up not with Crohn's but with a father that has been working on a cure for Crohn's, She began to undertand he father's research properly in light of her medical training, taking the decision to get personally involved with fundraising/awareness campaigning... and building a team of people from the Crohn's community (across 3 continents)who are working together to support the research that could lead to a Crohn's cure.
One person that is accutely aware of this research is Jennifer Klobassa. Jenny has Crohn's and is member of this team, a Crohn's patient from Minneapolis, will talk about her experience with anti-MAP antibiotic therapy (AMAT). She contacted Amy's father in 2008 having read several of his scientific papers and he gave her some advice about AMAT. As a result of this treatment, she has been in profound remission from her Crohn's for the last 6 years. She is now helping to fundraise for us by organising a benefit in April 2015.
With Dr. Hermon Taylor in England, Jenny in Minneapolis and I am in New York we are thousands of miles apart but with one goal, to further the idea that a cure can be found.
