This week on Cosmic Citizen (www.blogtalkradio.com/cosmiccitizen) we will be talking about the recent Parliament of World Religions which took place in Salt Lake City UTAH a few weeks ago. There were more than 100 Urantia Book Students present at the Parliament with several booths. Among them were representatives from: The Urantia Foundation, The Urantia Book Fellowship, The UAI, Truthseekers, 1God.com and United Urantia Family & Urantia Sacred Arts. Their may be others we don't know of, so if you were there, please to call in and share your experience. Sadly, none of the hosts of CC were able to be there for various reasons and we were disappointed, so we would dearly love to live vicariously through your sharing.
The Parliament covered many interesting social issues that are important to religionists, such as, Climate Change, Hate Speech, War and Violence, Income Inequality, Human Rights, Women's Dignity, Emerging Leaders and Indigenous Peoples. Some thought the event was too focused on social issues. There were speakers there like Jane Goodall, Karen Armstrong, Michael Beckwith, Marianne Williamson, and one of our favorite quests on CC, Brian McClaren. There were nearly 10,000 religionists from all over the globe in attendance! We've lined up a nice group of Urantia Book students who attended to call in this week, some who went to the Parliament for the first time and some who have attended several times. We'll hope to get their impressions and highlights and hear about what moved them and the people they met.
If you went to the Parliament or not, you will no doubt love hearing the lively reports and thoughtful feedback from various callers who went. Please call us too at 646.716.8158

This is a fun one. Seth Andrews explores some religions borne or (or influenced by) iconic films. In this episode, he interviews a representative of The Temple of the Jedi Order (Star Wars), and a Dudeist Priest from The Church of the Latter Day Dude (The Big Lebowski).
These are likely not the churches you'd see on a neighborhood street corner, but they're out there, and we're going to take this opportunity to find out more.
Jackie Alnor is our guest as she reports from the Parliament of World Religions in Utah. A new age gathering helping to usher in the antichrist and a one world religious system. Jackie also broadcasts on Blog Talk Radio and her program is the Scattered Sheep report.
Jackie is the author of The Fleecing of Christianity. She has been a pioneer for many years exposing the fraudsters who disguise themselves as sheep or who call themselves Christians, alerting the body of Christ to the dangers to come.

Religion is one of the most important topics of conversation, because they represent our beliefs in a high power. Through the years, religion has played a pivotal role in government, nations, war, and scandal. We are affected by religion everyday. In our laws, and our morals. Are religions ethical, are they necessary. Do you have to belong to a religion to seek your creator. The BigEfromMo show and your host Erik Harper will expose the myths, and lay the truth at your feet for you to decide. Our lives often depend on a faith we hold dear, but what if that faith has been tainted with manipulation and lies? The power and control enjoyed by religion is amazing. Join us at 10pm CST for a frank and always honest discussion about world religions and the place they hold in our society. Can we trust what our churches tell us, or should we always seek the answers on our own.
No Pagans Shine, Correllian Family Hour or Correllian Deep Waters tonight. All of our hosts are enjoying the Parliament of the World's Religions. Please join us in a special encore presentation of Ed Hubbard Live from Australia and the last Parliament of the World's Religions five years ago.
Normal programming will return to Fridays next week.
Our quote for today is from Desmond Tutu. He said, "God's dream is that you and I and all of us will realize that we are family, that we are made for togetherness, for goodness, and for compassion."
In this podcast, we are making our way through Garry R. Morgan's book, "Understanding World Religions in 15 Minutes a Day."
Our Understanding World Religions topic for today is, "African Traditional Religions"
In terms of adherents, the largest animistic family is the African Traditional religions. Africa contains fifty-plus countries and more than one thousand different people groups, each with its own religious variations on the animistic theme. Here, too, generalizations are possible, with exceptions.
African Traditional religions have proven exceptionally resilient in the face of modernization. As Christianity and Islam spread across Africa, it was widely predicted that traditional religions would disappear by the end of the twentieth century. On the contrary, though a majority of today's Africans claim to be either Christian or Muslim, traditional religions are widely practiced. Both monotheistic religions face the problem of nominalism (from Latin, meaning "in name only"). Syncretism and parallelism are pervasive.

WE CONTINUE WITH PART TWO
ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS PART 2
Most people know that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all descended from Abraham, the Patriarch of the three Semitic faiths. If these three religious “children” all came from the same “Father” so to speak, why can’t they all just get along? The reason why Judaism, Christianity and Islam seem at odds with each other can be understood as a result of the original purpose for each religion. First off, Judaism was meant only for the Jewish people -- no one else.
God says in the Old Testament, in Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear ye O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.” This is exactly what Jesus himself quotes to his followers when they ask him: “What is the highest commandment?” Hardly surprising -- most people know Jesus was Jewish, that he was raised as a Jew and that he observed all the laws and rituals associated with Judaism. Jesus himself says he did not come to destroy the Mosaic Law (Matt. 5:17) and that his mission as stated in Matt. 15:24 was only to “gather the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel” – the Jews, in Judea and elsewhere. Specifically, Jesus came as the Messiah for the Jewish people to reform them of their worldliness and hard-heartedness. Jesus also came to prepare the Jews for their next Prophet, one who would be like Moses and whose type and nature of prophethood (Law-bearing verbal revelation) along with the location of his advent (Mount Paran in Arabia) are mentioned clearly in Deuteronomy 18:18-21 and Deuteronomy 33:2. (Paul, a Rabbinical Jew educated under Gamaliel in the exegesis of the Torah and its numerous prophecies, must certainly have understood these prophecies and their import. This would explain why he went to Arabia for three years after initially converting to Christianity in 35 AD.
