LifeUP Coaching with Isabel welcomes Julia Legian in this episode that explores the resilience of the human spirit.
Julia was born in 1972 in South Vietnam. Truth be told, nobody in her family really knows her real date of birth as during war time people had other priorities than birth registries.
Julia endured a horrific and extremely tough childhood. This is the subject of her memoir The Ugly Daughter. In the early 80's, her family managed to escape Vietnam as one of the “boat people” and after a few years in a refugee camp in Malaysia, they immigrated to Australia, where Julia lives to this day.
In the mid-90’s, Julia found herself a single mom struggling to pay bills, about a 100 thousand in debt and almost homeless. She met her husband in 2001, became a successful property investor and started her own real estate business. She retired in 2013 to focus on writing. She recently published her memoir and has become an internationally bestselling author.
Check out Julia and her memoir, The Ugly Daughter.

Years ago, there was a dream to have a domestic violence registry and the National Domestic Violence Registry was born (see https://www.facebook.com/NationalDVRegistry and http://domesticviolencedatabase.net/). So far it is being pieced together and has come a long ways, but now it comes to the next level to mandate it just like the Sex Offender Registry, especially for repeat domestic violence offenders.
Amanda Forsythe is on the journey of presentation presentation in OH and working to have laws mandated in her own state of TN. She will share with it why Gypsy's Law is being pushed now, and how YOU too can help.
Beyond Words Live is a platform for survivors to tell their story in their own words. Join us at http://facebook.com/domesticviolencevoices and http://facebook.com/KrastinSocialJustice for more discussions on this and other similar topics.

Where should you register, and for how many items? What do you want to receive versus the “essentials” that you should register for? What about non-traditional registries - are these okay to do and what are some options? Those are only a fraction of the questions that arise during the registry process; we will answer all of them and many more!
