Of particular note, I recall the longitudinal studies of Dr Charles Hoge published October of 2004, in the New England Journal of Medicine that addressed the growing mental health burden being produced from extended combat operations.As a warrior and medical educator, I knew that I wanted to help our returning combat veterans, so I started looking in to life skills coaching. The problem was that so many of the life coaching schools insisted that coaching was for “healthy” people and that the emotional states of fear, guilt, and anger were best suited for psychiatry.
