The Recruiting Animal Show is the world's oldest and longest-running online call-in show about recruiting. That doesn't make it the best, it makes it the only one.
Every other show is a one-on-one discussion. This show is one hour long and cannot depend on the brilliance of any one person to come up with enough interesting content to carry the conversation through the full lunch hour so we spread the responsibilities around.

I turn 36 on the November 19. I've been in the business since I was 20 -- 2/3 corporate side, 1/3 agency side.
For the last year focussed on studying inbound marketing for talent & internet marketing.
I know too much stuff about tools and software for recruiting.

We just can't get enough Bill Boorman. The hobo recruiting consultant was on the show just a few weeks ago but after it was over he claimed that I didn't give him enough time to provide evidence to support his claim that more and more jobs are becoming short term affairs. So, nice guy that I am, I invited him back to give him a second chance. And since he's a popular chap, Bill called in from a pub after a day at The Recruiting Unconference in Edinburgh so the sound quality was irregular. The show has been edited down to cut the garbled parts out.
Over the last twelve months, our company has identified a trend in insurance and real estate agent hiring all across the country.
We spotted this ongoing trend in mainly independent insurance agent (IMO) and real estate brokerage business models with tiered commission structures where "sponsoring" or "recruiting" is the method to hire new agents.
There are both pre-recruiting and new agent actions that are necessary to make recruiting mutually beneficial for the company, the hiring agent and the recruit.

When I first met Bill Boorman he was the only guy in the room wearing a suit. Today he looks like a hobo. And when I met Bill Boorman, he used to be a recruiting trainer. Tomorrow he is leading a webinar called: Digital HR: From Recruitment to Payroll (and Everything in Between). It makes me wonder, "Bill, what happened?" and today I'm going to find out.
