Join us on today's Transformed Traveler show as the summer is winding down and so are the opportunities to get active outdoors. Lucky for you there is a new program that will have you training like the troops this fall and all year round.
Coca-Cola is partnering with the National Recreation and Park Association to create the Troops for Fitness program. In select cities, U.S. military veterans will soon be running boot camp style fitness classes.
Jimmy O’Connor is the Senior Manager of Grants and Partnerships at the National Recreation and Park Association and he joins us now with more.
You will learn : what is the Troops for Fitness program and why is it so important, how are veterans involved with the program, who are these classes for and what can they expect from these programs, and how can our listeners go get involved and learn more?
Jimmy O’Connor serves as Senior Manager of Grants and Partnerships for the National Recreation and Park Association. In this role, he works with corporations and foundations to activate programs targeting community livability and wellness through public parks – such as providing out-of-school nutrition to children, developing community gardens, refurbishing outdoor sports and fitness areas, and improving people’s access to and connection with nature.
Behold, he makes all things new! Our God is the God of the New. Even nature itself teaches us that all things become new and our God is making all things new in his time. In the beggining he made all things new, and in then end, he will make those things that were old and worn out, new again. Are you worn out? Our God makes all things, including you, new! Be remade today by the grace and mercy of God. He is able, he is willing, doubt no more. Amen.
It's summer! Time to frolic at the beach, enjoy sunset concerts in the park, cookouts in the backyard, and so on.
But do you find yourself planning to have a good time but never actually getting around to it? Part of getting good at life is creating balance in your life; the kind of balance that makes room for relaxation, recreation, and reflection.
If you're guilty of letting summer pass you by, tune in for some healthy advice about how to pace yourself. Take some time off, get away from that to-do list (it's not going anywhere anyway), and get in the habit of creating happy memories with your family and friends.
Join us as we chat with our monthly contributor, author, speaker, and recovering procrastinator, Rita Emmett, about how to stop putting off the best days of your life. There's no time like the present!

Many times we find ourselves with so many commitments, we find ourselves pulled in many different directions. Our work environment expects us to multitask within a set time frame. Our families need constant attention (Spouse, children, aging parents, etc….) Let’s not t forget friends, clubs, religious/civic responsibilities and recreation. It’s no wonder we feel drained at the end of the day. Most people try to cope by drinking coffee or some other caffeine drink to keep up. Sooner or later, it all catches up with us and we develop ulcers, hypertension, or some other ailment. Most people don’t realize that our biggest difficulty is the lack of balance in our lives. We all have to cage for our 6 basic needs:
If any of these needs are not met, we as individuals fall into an imbalance, disrupting every other area of our lives. A person can have a keen mind, yet if the emotions are not right or there is a severe physical illness, it will pull this person out of balance.
Outdoor Recreation in the winter months can be a challenge, but also very rewarding! Adam Francis and Robert Oliver discuss recent trip to goose creek state park, cold weather camping. Speaking on how this applies in a Wilderness Survival Situation. Shelter systems and sleep gear, also gear picks of the week in this new episode of the Equip 2 Endure Podcast.

I always loved and listened to music growing up, but my passion truly began when I discovered hiphop production at a local recreation center I went to when I was 14. There was a teen center which had a recording booth along with computers and keyboards all over the room, after that 1st day there nobody could get me out as I was determined to master my skills as a producer. Years later recreational center wasn't working for me so I brought my work home and began making beats every day. 2014 was the birth year of Trizzytrebeats.net and the worldwide recognition of myself as a producer, but my vision has changed for the future as I don't only want to be a producer. Now I aim to shine a light on underground talent and help get their music heard and promoted and I love every bit of it. In the future I hope to have my own studio/radio station/ live venue where I can really give back to the community and have a place for indie artists to get exposure.
