More and more, we hear about Recovery Advocacy. But what does that really mean? Why should we care about Recovery Advocacy? What resources are out there? How can people get involved? We get these questions frequently, and as National Recovery Month comes to a close, we wanted to wrap up our experiences from this past month: what we witnessed, what we learned, what resources we found and how we got active. We will also share resources for where you can involved in Recovery Advocacy right in your own community - how to help with policy change, how to get more drug/alcohol education in your school, what organizations are already out there who need your help. We will also talk about what we are doing from a grass roots standpoint with our non-profit Shining Strong; one of the most valuable things we have learned over the past year is that if you can't find the resources you want or need, you can create them!
We are blessed to have found many partners and fellow advocates willing to help spread the words that there IS hope, and RECOVERY WORKS.

Good morning. Today, on The Meter we cover the recent economic news that seems to contrast with the President's approval numbers. Is there economic recovery or continued stagnation? Also, Sgt. Bowe Bergdhal will be charged with desertion. Bowe Bergdhal was exchanged for 5 terrorists inspite of reports from members of his own unit that he had left his post without permission. President Obama and National Securoty Advisor Susan Rice said repeeatly that Bergdhal had served honorably. Does this exchange threaten national security? Governor Mike Pence (R) IN has signed a bill into law that protects religious freedom. Under the new law no one can be forced to do business if it violates their religious principles. Protests and boycotts are brewing claiming the law discriminates against gay and transgendered citizens. Also, Hillary Clinton was under subpoena to release all documents regarding Benghazi, however she advised Congress that she deleted everything from her server. Was a crime committed. We cannot walk this walk of faith with a mind conformed to this world. Many have been brought up by parents that went to church but didn't know God. The bible say's raise up a child on the way they should go and they won't depart from it. Because of the up bringing of many they have a mind that is conformed to this world, but seek a new way of life. We will be talking about the transformation that can only take place by the spirit of God. tune in and be blessed
