Pianist, singer, and songwriter - let's include young visionary in this mix - that's our next guest, Rachel Eckroth.
When you first hear her music, it may be startling. With a voice that lends itself to Jazz, there is more here than meets the ear. Rachel explores the nooks and crannies of what inspires her - the lyrics and the musical content are adventurous. She goes deep into the jungle of Jazz and beyond...allowing you to dive into the wild recesses of a soul. I'm not kidding. It's like that!
Phoenix born, this unique talent was raised by musical parents - her brother also a pianist - so her confidence level was fostered early. By high school, she was known around town. And was mentored by former Count Basie Band vocalist, Dennis Rowland.
Graduating from the University of Nevada, she lingered in the area, backing both Las Vegas based and national performers. An even bigger move to the East Coast...there, she got her MFA from Rutgers University. In Jazz Performance. With international touring under her belt and a wealth of education, she returned to Arizona. And found steady work with a known "name" in the business who also called Phoenix home.
While contemplating her music and where it might take her, literally and figuratively, Rachel decided to take the leap - and recorded her first solo effort. "Mind" featured a Jazz trio and was warmly received. But there was more than she wanted to hear herself write, play and sing. Established again in New York, she built her creativity around the second phase of Rachel Eckroth's destiny. And "Let Go" was born.
A CD release party is looming, buzz is building, and established stars are following her on Twitter. They're watching another star ascend :) Please welcome Rachel on 4/17/2014

What can you say about two former D.J.’s who happened upon the opportunity to create Stage 3 Productions where they made the most lively, inspired and downright humorous commercials, except perhaps, their clients certainly got their monies worth and more. Their unique take on commercials was far before its time as each ad caught the listener by surprise and brought not just fact but fantasy.
We at It Matters Radio are pleased to welcome back Bill Chamberlain and introduce Don Sinclair as they take us on an adventurous ride through the entertainment industry as D.J.’s, business partners and great friends.
So expect the unexpected but certainly be prepared for laughter and fun. After all, isn’t that what life is all about.

The illegal drug business is a billion dollar industry, involving countries near and far in the importing and distribution of substances that alter the brain chemistry of those indulging in their use. Just like in the alcohol industry, many individuals became wealthy by knowing how to grow the crops and process the intoxicating substance themselves and sell it on the underground market. Then the government, realizing the tremendous amount of money to be made, ended the prohibition of alcohol and began issuing licenses, for a fee of course, for those wishing to manufacture and distribute it. They put a government seal on the bottle and charged sales tax for it. The sale of alcohol, or liquor, became a legitimate business. Now, with the legalization of marijuana also comes government regulations as to who may grow the crops that produce the drugs, who may process, package and sell the drugs and even who may legally buy the drugs. "Medicinal marijuana" can be taxed and therefore generate revenue for the government. But other drugs, not yet declared "legal" or acknowleged for their medicinal value, are stil being sold in the underground economy. Across the world lands are being seized and wars are being fought over the ownership and control of land where crops are grown that are processed into drugs and placed on the world market. The issue is really about control of the billion dollar drug business. Is the U.S. government taking over the illegal drug business? Jamie Sevier, community activist and C.E.O. of People Realizing Ourselves (PRO) examines the ties between the loss of vocational schools, the distribution of drugs in the urban community, and the growth of the prison industry, all while the government seizes property previously owned by growers of plants used for drugs. Legal consultant Warren Houston, an associate with the company Kannaway, discusses how marijuana legalization creates new business opportunities.
