Heart Service: A Path to Happiness

    in Relationships

You are listening to Happiness Index and we are continuing our conversation on "Love and Service: Key to Happiness."  Dr. King was clear about  service and its power and how we should serve.  He said, “Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”  He was equally clear that as a Black man he would not hate those who would hate him.  He said, “Let no man pull you so low as to hate him.” He deepen his resolve when he said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”   We are encouraging you to take the high road as you are dealing with difficult issues.  When you are in pain or deeply troubled, find someone to serve and that will lift you up and will give you the strength and the sweetness to bring change for yourself and for others.  Thank you for listening to Happiness Index on Blog Talk Radio.  Join me in this conversation and make the world better for all, call (347) 539-5818.

    in Relationships

Thank you for tuning in to Happiness Index.  Our conversation is on the joy and happiness that come from listening or playing music.   Does the explicit attempt to be happier facilitate or obstruct the actual experience of happiness? We will be sharing with you the results of two experiments that explore the positive impact of music as a happiness- inducing activity.  We will also share how these studies demonstrated that listening to positive music might be an effective way to improve happiness, particularly when it is combined with an intention to become happier.  Thank you in advance for tuning in and turning on to happiness by listening to Happiness Index.  You can share your wisdom on this topic by calling (347) 539-5818.

Service: A Path to Happiness and Love

    in Relationships

Thank you for joining us on Happiness Index, as we continue to deepen the conversation about service.  The theme for the show today is, Service: A Path to Happiness and Love.   We suggest that if you want happiness and love service is the path to take. You want a better community, then give of yourself. You want a happier life then find someone to serve.  Examples of great leaders are, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Buddha, Muhammad, Jesus, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Teresa, Princess Diana to name but a few. All these leaders have one thing in common they served and went beyond a call of duty.  One of the better-known benefits of serving is the impact on the community and the person who is being of service. People who volunteer are the glue that holds a community together.  The beautiful thing about service is that the person who gives of him or herself receives the benefit of giving.  Giving and receiving are the same. As we continue this topic of Service, we will be happy, because we will serve as we encourage you to serve.  The benefits of service:  1. Service connects you to others 2. It helps you to make new friends and contacts 3.  You gain new skills 4.  Be happy find someone and somewhere to serve.  Dr. Martin Luther King said, Everyone has the power for greatness -- not for fame, but greatness, because greatness is determined by service.  Service is a matter of devotion and love!  You can share your wisdom on this topic by calling (347) 539-5818

Life's Purpose is Service: A Path to Happiness

    in Relationships

Thank you for joining Happiness Index.  We continue to explore service, we are returning to Life's Purpose is Service: A Path to Happiness.

What is the meaning of service? Is service an international convention agreed by all people? Assuming one works as a cook, dishwasher, taxi –driver, bank manager, City council person, all these positions are paid service positions. Does one focus on the fruit of the service or the work? Why is true service the road less travelled by most people?  Service as life’s purpose can be an impossible task if one is looking for a short cut to self-actualization.  If you would like to join us in this conversation to make the world better for all, please call (347) 539-5818.

Attitude of Gratitude: Path to Happiness

    in Relationships

Thank you for tuning in to Happiness Index. Today we will be exploring the Attitude of Gratitude: Path to Happiness with Kokomon Clottey.  The key to happiness is the development and knowing the art of being grateful. “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend,” as stated clearly by Melody Beattie. Here lies the greatest secret to happiness. One must always be in the frame of mind of gratefulness and cultivate a sense and attitude of gratitude, if one truly want to tap into one’s inner happiness and maintain it. We suggest that we must be grateful for the sun, ocean, billions of stars, the birds that sing and everyone that we share our home “Planet Earth” with.  This attitude of gratitude is a path to happiness.

LOVE: A PATH TO HAPPINESS, Featuring: Kokomon Clottey

    in Relationships

Thank you for joining Happiness Index .  Today, we continue to explore, Love: A Path to Happiness. The dance between Love and Happiness is telling.  They are like Romeo and Juliette, entangled in an irresistible attraction to happiness. It is impossible for one to experience love without being happy. Thich Nhat Hanh said, Every morning, when we wake up, we have twenty-four brand-new hours to live. What a precious gift! We have the capacity to live in a way that these twenty-four hours will bring peace, joy, and happiness to ourselves and others. Love is that GATE WAY. This is rooted in the wisdom that God is love. It is in all of us. The secret is; to be happy, one must share the love. The Dalai Lama  XIV said, If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.  Our work is to remember always that the essence of our being is love.  To remember this is to remember our innate happiness.  Join us in this conversation, call (347) 539-5818 to share your wisdom.
