The Wisconsin EMS Live broadcast on Tuesday, April 14 is dedicated to Community Paramedicine and recent action by the Physicians Advisory Committee.
The CommunityParamedicine conversation will run from 9:00 to 9:40 a.m. Our guests include Minnesota Ambulance Association’s Buck McAlpin, PAAW President Patrick Ryan, and city of Milwaukee Fire Department’s Michael Wright. All three are deeply involved in CP and building the infrastructure to deliver it the right way here in Wisconsin. Like anything new or evolving some education and learning is required to move forward, and there will be many questions to ask and answer.
Community Paramedicine programs have been evolving in Minnesota, Colorado and Texas. An architect in Minnesota’s CP development is Buck McAlpin, director of government affairs for the Minnesota Ambulance Association and North Memorial Medical Transportation in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Given his experience in leading CP concepts in Minnesota, McAlpin’s knowledge and expertise is being sought nationally, to include by the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin.
At 9:40 a.m. we’ll be joined by Dr. Suzanne Martens, Chair of the Physicians Advisory Committee. Her group recently recommended use of nitrous oxide as an option to control pain management at the Advanced EMT level and higher. Another recommendation is allowing one paramedic and one trained airway technician to perform a medication assisted advanced airway procedure that under current situations requires two paramedics.
As always, the live show offers caller questions. Make sure to listen live on your phone or any internet connected device on Tuesday, April 14 starting at 9:00 a.m. central time and lasting 60 minutes.

After years in the healing ministry and seeing hundreds healed, John G. Lake developed what he called, "Divine Healing Technicians". For several weeks he would teach from the Word of God on the subject of healing and share his own revelations and insights gained during his years of ministering to the sick, and also from his experiences seeing his own family healed. For several years he lived in Zion, Illinois and learned from the man who has been called the 'father of the divine healing movement', John Alexander Dowie. It was under Dowie's ministry that Lake's dying brother, two sisters, and his wife were all raised up. God had well prepared him to train others.
Jesus did tell us, 'go and make disciples of all nations'......Lake discipled people in the ministry of healing.
In the Healing Rooms Lake opened people came for teaching and laying on of hands. When he sent his technicians out, what the students learned was to spend time with the sick, teach them the Word and become sensitive to each one's specific needs. They were to come back to the Institute when the person was healed.
Let's discuss the healing technician a little more today.

Can it be said that all religions (those of politics and God) are deceptions to get the masses to believe in a higher cause in order to take lives? Why is this topic so important in a world of radiological, biological and chemical evolution?
What is the purpose of following religions?
How does one get started in these religions (politics and God)?
What if any of us just stopped practicing these religions?
What could an individual's life look life if the Creator's potential (thinking and building humans) came out instead of following the masses in religion?
What keeps people following these religions?
What could cause one to stop following religions?
What is the 1st physical step a listener could take to lead their own life instead of following the beliefs of religion (Politics & God)?
My name is Keith Davis and I have impacted thousands of people’s lives as a business owner and officer of many organizations over the past 35 years, including the Network Marketing Industry.
I have owned “The Keith Davis Show” for over 7 years, retired 5 years ago from the telecommunications industry as a business systems and fiber optics technician, and earned my fiber optic splicer certification.
Working with teams and for the benefit of others has always been a strong passion of mine as is evident in my having held positions in many not-for-profit agencies over the last 35 years. Telephone Pioneers of America, Foresters not-for-profit Insurance Company, and The United Negro College Fund, to name a few, raising funds and managing and working with organizations like The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Easter Seals Foundation, The American Red Cross, MS Foundation, and many more.
Being a leader and working as a team-player is also of paramount importance to me. I was President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union 396 in Las Vegas, Nevada (2002-2007), Executive Vice President for the Coalition of Black Trade Unionist in Las Vegas, Nevada (2004-2008), and President of the Spellbinder Speech Club (1988-1992). When you work with me on my team, we get things done!
I live in Las Vegas, Nevada with my beautiful wife Wanda, have 2 lovely daughters and 6 wonderful grandchildren. Family is precious to me and my goal is to help others spend more time with their families.
With an unparalleled passion for country music, it comes as no surprise that Skytone Entertainment artist Matt Farris's career has gotten off to a promising start. A heart for helping those in need paired with an incredible talent and positive energy has allowed for the early and natural growth of a significant fan base. All of these characteristics have given Farris a strong foundation on which to build his career – one that, at the hands of another, was almost instantaneously taken away.
After graduating high school, Farris moved to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University and later to Phoenix where he became an emergency medical technician and certified fire fighter through The Glendale Community College Fire Academy – all the while continuing to work on his music. His plight for country music stardom, however, nearly came to a tragic end when an altercation with two strangers trying to steal his father's truck left both Farris and his father shot.
Despite a full schedule, Farris still finds time to give back, supporting both the Make a Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society – focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness. After losing friend Denise to the disease, he started Denise's Day – an annual benefit in his hometown which can be seen at www.denisesday.org.
"Giving back is extremely important to me. I love everything about what I do. But, more than anything, I love that it allows me a platform to better help those that need it. My music gives others a voice... I love my job."
Ryan Miner, host of A Miner Detail, will investigate the more than 20 reported incidents of child sex abuse or exploitation in the Montgomery County Public Schools since 2011.
Ryan will host several guests on the show to discuss how sexual predators were allowed in the Montgomery County Public Schools and how the background check process failed to protect children from predators in the school system. Ryan has invited parents, teachers and community leaders to offer policy alternatives to fix the system in place.
This show will focus on how to prevent future incidents from happening in the future and how to work with local school officials, and law enforcement to protect children in Montgomery County Public Schools.
From the WUSA9 Report:
"John Epps Junior was a contract employee for MCPS who did work in 58 schools. Ironically, the security camera technician was caught on surveillance video grabbing the behind of a 12 year-old Baker Middle School student. He's alleged to have done the same to a Damascus High School student. Court documents show Epps had a criminal history of groping women in public, of which the school system was unaware. He will go to trial in March for those school groping incidents."
Please call in to the show to join the conversation. Join Ryan Miner, host of A Miner Detail as brought to you by Change Montgomery County, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 9:00 p.m.
*Editor's note: We will approach this conversation with an extra degree of delicacy and sensitivity considering the content and materials.
