    Microaggression Same as Prejudice Behavior

    in Relationships

Microaggressions are more than just insults and insensitive comments that show people's biases against marginalized groups leaving their victims feeling uncomfortable or insulted Remarks, questions, and actions  are painful because they have to do with a person's membership in a group that's discriminated against; they happen casually and often without any harm intended.  These racial assaults to black dignity  are incessant and cumulative. The major vehicle for racism in this country is offenses done to blacks by whites in this sort of gratuitous never ending way. These offenses are microaggressions. Almost all black: white racial interactions are characterized by white put-downs, done in automatic,  fashion. These mini disasters accumulate. Statements appear to be a compliment or a joke, but contain a hidden insult about a group of people.

Since our thoughts often determine our actions, implicit bias can lead to discriminatory behaviors; it's no surprise race is a prime area for implicit bias, and if you live in America,There's a widespread preference for light skinned over dark skinned and white over black. The implicit associations we hold often don't align with our declared beliefs. Racial minorities can hold implicit biases against themselves, too. These results are rarely reflective of conscious attitudes. The most popular of these tests is the Implicit Association Test, or IAT. Anthony Greenwald and his colleagues invented it in the mid-1990s. mplicit racial bias can shape our beliefs and assumptions, color the way we treat other people, and even help decide what "feels true" for us when it comes to larger social and political issues. The sum total of multiple microaggressions by whites to blacks that has pervasive effect to the stability and peace of this world.

Spiritual Warfare: How To Defeat Satan - Appraise The Battle Field

    in Women

The day has come when God’s people must walk in such a close, intimate relationship with Christ that they KNOW His voice, or they will be deceived by false teachers and prophets and be led astray.  Join us every Thursday night at 8:00pm EST to learn how to DEFEAT THIS DEMON called SATAN.  Dial 714-816-4636 and you are live on the air with Prophetess DyAnne Dempsey.

There are many thousands of Christians today, living in defeat because they are listening to satan’s lies.  Instead of recognizing satan as a liar and casting his lies out of their minds, they listen.  They reason with him.  Like Eve, they entertain his thoughts in their minds and they fall into his trap.

To live in victory over satan, you must discern satan’s voice when he speaks, and reject it.  If you listen, as Eve did, you will give him access to your mind and open yourself up for defeat.

    City of Ferguson Indicted

    in Politics

The Justice Department on Wednesday called on Ferguson, Mo., to overhaul its criminal justice system, declaring that the city had engaged in so many constitutional violations that they could be corrected only by abandoning its entire approach to policing, retraining its employees and establishing new oversight. The report described a city that used its police and courts as moneymaking ventures, a place where officers stopped and handcuffed people without probable cause, hurled racial slurs, used stun guns without provocation, and treated anyone as suspicious merely for questioning police tactics.

“Seen in this context — amid a highly toxic environment, defined by mistrust and resentment, stoked by years of bad feelings, and spurred by illegal and misguided practices — it is not difficult to imagine how a single tragic incident set off the city of Ferguson like a powder keg,” AG Holder NYT

    THE CORINTHIANS: A CHURCH DIVIDED

    in Spirituality

We are going to continue our study oF Paul's letters to the Corinthian Church.

Previously, we learned that Corinth was a center of trade as well as a sinful city. We learned that the Apostle went to the city in the year 50 AD and stayed there for two years, preaching and winning many souls to Christ. Upon his departure from the city, he was informed, by many of the believers there, that the church had become divided over certain issues. From this report, Paul penned his first letter to the Church at Corinth.

The letter begins with two points that he emphasized. The first is that this church, and every church that is established, is a church of God. Secondly, in the first ten verses, of Paul's letter the name of Jesus Christ occurs no fewer than ten times. In doing this Paul wanted to remind those reading his letter to always keep before them the central character of any church... the common thread that binds the people within the Church of God together, i.e., Jesus the Christ/ Yahshua Ha Mashiach.

This letter was to a church divided over personalities, schisms, traditions and doctrines.

This evening we are going to continue our study in discovering the truths revealed through the pages of 1st Corinthians.
