Today, we are still experiencing racial tensions, not just between races, but within our race. Why? Because without a vision the people will perish. Many ask who is the black leadership today? My response is YOU! But you must have a clear vision of your service to others, otherwise we all perish.

Breaking the Chains....Beginning Again After the Storm

This past Sunday was Mother's Day, and my first one without my Queen Mother, Diva Dee as she was often lovingly called. It was definitely a rough patch to endure, as her memories brought both joy and pain. I don't think we are ever prepared for losing loved one, but one thing is for sure - we have to find new beginnings after the storm.

I focused on three things to manage my first Mother's Day without her, because last year, my sisters and I all surprised her with a weekend getaway. I focused on: 1) How could I bring happiness to someone else; 2) Support myself emotionally; and 3) Serve others to make a difference?

Tune in to today's show to learn how focusing our intentions can help navigate us through the storms of life and create opportunities to find joy and peace through service to others. It's important to find some activity that can uplift your emotions into ones that nourish your soul. For me, it was taking my focus off me through service, which in turn filled my heart with lighter emotions to weather the storm.
