Dameon Aranda and Gabe Aranda started their first band in the 5th grade. They were inspired by their parents favorite musicians: Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Cat Stevens. On their first release, the self-taught musicians worked with the Grammy nominated production team of Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello. 2009 saw Aranda’s first charting single, “Still in the Dark,” break into the Top 30 chart for active rock radio across the country. That same year, Dameon Aranda received an unexpected phone call from Kelly Clarkson, asking if she could cover two of Aranda’s songs on her album, All I Ever Wanted-including the high-energy in your face rebel song, “Whyyawannabringmedown.” This song was selected by the WWE as the theme song for the pay per view event, The Bash, and “All I Ever Wanted” became the title track of Clarkson’s album. Soon after, Aranda released their second album, Stop the World, which was produced by Grammy nominated producer, Johnny K, (Disturbed, Staind, Sevendust and Drowning Pool.) They embarked on a nationwide tour with Daughtry and 3 Doors Down. There are elements of “Stop the World” on Aranda’s forthcoming release, Not the Same. The band is taking their life experiences, the changes they have gone through and channeling all the emotional feelings into a collection of songs that will introduce fans to a rebirth of Aranda. The 11 new songs, including one stripped down acoustic and one self proclaimed “disco-y pseudo rock track”, are each their own piece to a larger story about a journey that overcomes darkness. Not the Same will be your own personal light at the end of the tunnel. Aranda brings their message of hope and optimism to their audience. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/arandaband

Others may have a different description for 'rock bottom', than what I am suggesting here. We only have one life we're living right now, and if it resembles something society, our parents or some invisible entity would approve of, but we never wanted...than we are living a rock bottom existence.
In a bad relationship, a bad job, or a bad anything, which says, "I settled for a life that wasn't mine," then isn't it time to really get a clue to what would feel good?
Plenty of people are in situations, which they thought were the 'right thing to do', but by who's standards?
Where did those rules for a proper life come from and why have so many of us caved to living a life that belongs to someone else? We've competed, compared and cajoled our way into a position, which leaves us empty, unfulfilled and wanting! And what about those of us still striving to reach that pinnacle that really belongs to someone else's idea of a good life?
Okay, so isn't it time to stop beating yourself up and asking "Why am I here?" "Where has my life gone?" or feeling any other sort of lack in who you are and what you really want to accomplish for yourself.
Join me and learn how all those "C" words got you to living someone else's life....and what you can do to "C"hange it.

Meeting Trina Bass Coleman in Church was no surprise. That is what her life has been, truth be told. Mom was a respected choral director and Dad: a singer/songwriter. Performance was second nature to little Trina. Choirs, bands, anything to do with Church - the worship aspect of those public outpourings of song is something that has never left her.
This young lady is truly something. A singer on keys, flute and sometimes ukulele - a songwriter of unique strength - and an educator. Add to the mix of those talents these facts: there is a sweet mix of cultures in Trina. There was classical training in her upbringing. She grasps a wide array of genres because that's her world. Especially when Sojourne was formed a few years ago. Gospel, Soul, Classical were already in place. Enter husband, Zachary, who plays guitar in the group. His focus is on Rock and Blues. Drummer Stephen McGrath brings Jazz to the mix - funky or understated. Tim Long is the earthy force behind bass. You mix the dynamic fusion of these sincere musicians and you have a VERY different sound.
We'll be playing three tracks from "These Seeds" - a new work from Sojourne. And the first thought that will come to your mind is that you have no comparison to make. That's what people usually do. "Oh - that sounds like (fill in the blank)." You honestly cannot do that with Sojourne because of the Melting Pot effect. And each song will take you in a different direction! You can't put your finger on any one genre that is dominant over the other here - what strikes you is that Trina's empassioned voice takes you somewhere that you haven't traveled. In actuality, Sojourn means "temporary stay." It conjures exotic images. You may want to stay longer :) Join us on 10/13.
