The massive success of “Whiskey & Wine Vol. 1” kept the band on the road for the most part of 2014. The first single “That Was The Whiskey”, co-written with Nashville songwriter Lori McKenna (Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes), premiered on CMT trending in the Top 10 and was nominated in the "Country Song" category at The 13th Annual Independent Music Awards. When the New York based, alt-country female rockers do something, they do it big. Catapulted into the national spotlight in 2005 with a groundbreaking major label debut that landed them in the top 20 of the Billboard Heatseekers chart for an entire year.
Best known for relentless touring and masterful musicianship, the band played upwards of 280 shows a year in their early days. Founding sisters Cathy and Kristen Henderson have always had the same philosophy. Play better than the boys and make sure the fans feel like part of the family. Catchy songs, has allowed this self-sustained group to maintain her independence and leave an indelible mark on an industry best known for leaving girl (bands) behind.
In a business riddled with pitfalls, the fans have been the one thing Antigone Rising count on. Their first independent fan-funded CD (2000's "Rock Album") raised ten thousand dollars via checks through snail mail before the internet ever kicked into high gear. Their fan funded effort for "23 Red" raised quadruple that number, with fan perks including bowling and kickball with the band, private house concerts, and band members making personal happy birthday phone calls. Their latest campaign through PledgeMusic reached 154% of its goal within weeks. The fans are the lifeblood of Antigone Rising and have always been the most critical part of the formula.

UNBREAKABLE - A Story of Hope and Healing in Haiti
In the late afternoon of January 12, 2010, an otherwise ordinary day turned into a nightmare, forever changing the tranquil yet volatile nation of Haiti.
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the land that day devastating an already impoverished nation. It wiped out entire villages, and collapsed buildings including the country’s government headquarters. Hundreds of thousands lost their lives, more than one million were displaced, and tens of thousands were injured—including countless children and young people who suffered the loss of limbs.
Two American organizations stepped in. Despite corruption in the country and the threat of failure, Project Medishare set up clinics to aid the victims, and the Knights of Columbus, an international charitable organization, provided the funding necessary to ensure that prosthetic limbs would be made available for every child amputee. But this was only the beginning.
A small group of earthquake victims became emboldened to defy deeply entrenched Haitian stereotypes against people with disabilities. They formed Team Zaryen, an amputee soccer team that has transformed victims into beacons of hope, creating real possibilities for those attempting to rebuild their lives from the rubble of the 2010 earthquake. Team Zaryen’s dream to give back to those whose efforts helped them get back on their feet stretches all the way to Washington, offering help and inspiration to wounded American veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

Join "In the Stream" producer and host Jessica Dylan Winter as she welcomes Steven "Sarge" Pickman to the show.
Sarge is a lively and passionate self-proclaimed “black Jew.” He’s an extraordinary entertainer with multiple talents. A quadruple threat. He’s a singer, a pianist, an actor and a comedian -- and he’s one of the most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet.
His story is filled with interesting twists and he is filled with inspiration. He's been homeless and drug-addicted, and he's turned his life around. Driven by a considerable inner push to get out there and help people change their lives for the better, Sarge uses his comedic force to lighten things up while delivering important messages.
Sarge has used his comedy to open shows for some of the biggest names in music -- Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, Paul Anka, The Beach Boys, The Four Tops, Taylor Dayne, Donna Summer, Wayne Newton and more. He has worked on some of the biggest stages in show business -- from the Big Screen with legends like Garry Marshall to Radio City Music Hall to Major League Baseball's All-Star Game to entertaining our nation's troops in Iraq.
Dive into the stream to hear what Sarge has to say!
The show will close with a short, guided meditation.
