    in News

From big political plans to pseudo-science, there are some really "out there" big ideas being bandied about some of the pundits and scientists making the news of late. KaliSara and RevKess attempt to explore some of those ideas and maybe stick a pin in some of them to let the hot hair out.

In this edition of PWN the hosts will touch upon some of the bigger and "out there" ideas related to global warming and how to compensate for some of the damage already done by humanity as well as poke around at some of the political views that have cropped up as the United States draws closer and closer to the 2016 Presidential election season.

PWN 2015.9.4: Seasons Change but Stay the Same

    in News

In the Northern Hemisphere the Autumnal Equinox is upon us, in the Southern it is the Vernal Equinox. KaliSara and RevKess look at how even when the seasons change many things in life seem to stay the same. As they look towards the colder months, the hosts will look at how things seem to stagnate around the globe. Wars continue to wage, politicians continue to lie and make empty promises, and the social climate goes through its never ending cycle of "this looks good, oh wait, it isn't much different than before."

PWN's hosts talk a lot about change, usually for the better. But is there really much in the way of real change anywhere around the world? Sounds depressing to think about, doesn't it? Maybe there is real change. Tune in and find out what RevKess and KaliSara see as truly changing for the better.

PWN 2015.6.3: The Pope and Charleston

    in News

Last week RevKess and KaliSara stayed on the "sunny side" of things. That's not going to happen this week. With Wednesday's mass shooting in Charleston, SC at the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church there is little way to avoid the negative in the news. Dylann Roof, 21 yr old, is the suspected shooter in the deaths of 9 members of the church, including the pastor and state senator Clementa Pinckney. On a brighter note, Pope Francis II has issued a papal statement calling on all of humanity to acknowledge and battle climate change. Something that most Pagans can recognize as true. The first five months of 2015, on a global level, have been record breaking for high temperatures and this Spring has been one of the wettest in the Midwest of the United States - closing Pagan Spirit Gathering and threatening other events. This and more on PWN for Thursday 18 June 2015.

    in News

Its been politics as usual pretty much around the globe. And that's just what KaliSara and RevKess are going to address in this edition of PWN. After a spotty absence this late summer, the hosts are going to play a little catch up and talk about some of the political exploits of the usual suspects as well as address some of what has been going on in the Pagan world. Will they talk about Bernie Sanders creeping up and passing Hillary Clinton in the Iowa caucus? Will they talk about the recent rekindling of the debate of Wicca and initiation? Will they rambling on about their upcoming presentations at the Kearney Area Pagan Pride Day? Chance are they will do all of this and more. You'll just have to tune in to find out.

    PWN 2015.10.4: Season of Change

    in News

It is indeed a season for change. Here in the Northern Hemisphere we are seeing the leaves change color and fall from the trees while our friends South of the Equator are seeing new buds and sprouts appear. Seasons change, the news changes - sort of. We can see that things are changing in some parts of the world, sometimes for the better sometimes for the worse. Canada has a new Prime Minister who is way left of the old; Obama decides to keep US troops on the ground in Iraq; and the roller coaster that is the 2016 Presidential campaign season sees changes in the mix. Tune in for these topics and more on this edition of the Pagan Weekly News as KaliSara and RevKess share their unique Pagan perspectives on these and other topics in the news.

    PWN 2015.4.4: Preservation & Environmentalism

    in News

Wednesday April 22nd was Earth Day. For 45 years people around the world, especially in the United States, Canada, and Europe, have celebrated April 22nd as a day to remember the Earth and what She means to us. Often times those who participate in Earth Day celebrations go through the rest of the year not even thinking about the damage that they may be causing to the very planet they celebrate once a year. In this week's edition of PWN KaliSara and RevKess will be talking about Earth Day and how to celebrate it year round.

In the beginning of the show one of the collaborators on "A Pagan Community Statement on the Environment", David Dashifen Kees, will be joining the hosts to talk about that Statement. David is a contributor to Pagan Activist. On Wednesday David shared the press release from EcoPagan announcing the statement's final draft - which was released in time for Earth Day. Many notable Pagans have already signed onto the Statement, which is open to any and all to sign. It is a statement from the Pagan community, but not the ultimate statement. Some will not agree with it in its entirety. Tune in to PWN and read the Statement to help decide for yourself.

    Topics that may be discussed:

    Pagan Elders and Transphobia
    2016 US Presidential Campaigns

    Sanders on democratic socialism
Carson on Biblical accuracy (or craziness)

Mother Nature reminds us that She is in control
