On this episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, host and senior staff writer RIcky Keeler will give his takeaways from the World Series as the Royals defeated the Mets in five games and he will react to the news that Marcus Thames will be the new assistant hitting coach in 2016 to Alan Cockrell.
During this episode, Ricky will be joined by Nick Stellini, one of the writers at the Bronx Baseball Prospectus site. In addition to talking about Thames, Nick and I will talk about his latest article he wrote on the site about the team needing starting pitching. Will the Yankees go after David Price, Johnny Cueto, or Zack Greinke? If not those three guys, what mid-tier free agents could they look to acquire?

Mike Maddux is the pitching coach for the Texas Rangers who lost a heart-breaking series to the Blue Jays who eventually lost to the Royals for the AL pennant. Mike is also a long-time friend from Las Vegas. He also pitched in the major leagues for 15 years for 9 teams. We will talk about all that and more.
Let’s break down the series. I like the Mets starting pitching. I worry about their youth in a series. I like the Royals experience of being there plus their defense, team speed, and their middle relief. So I think I give the edge to KC. What are you seeing?
Do the stats bear out that the Royals hit power pitching better?
Talk about the psychology. The Rangers lost 2 tough World Series. How difficult is it to bounce back and get there again like the Royals are doing?
Talk about the young pitchers. I think Terry Collins has done a great job preserving the young arms for the post-season. But what about their heads now that they are a few steps from the promised land here?
How do you pitch Daniel Murphy?
An interesting issue during the Jays-Royals Series where reliever Aaron Loup was dropped from the roster and would not have been allowed back on for a family emergency. That’s tough on a team. What do you think MLB should do?
You coming back to Texas?
So everyone asks me. What is it with Mike having to put his hand on the shoulder of the pitchers when he comes out to the mound? You have like healing powers?
Tomorrow Ken Singleton.
At the Week 7 bye, how should Bears fans feel about the team's 2-4 record? Are there enough signs of improvement from the front office to the coaches to player personnel?
The Cubs face elimination in tonight's Game 4 of the NLCS against the Mets. Can they finally find an answer to the Mets' incredible pitching? Can their defense bounce back after a weak performance in Game 3? Can they score more than 2 runs?
