    in Spirituality

Monique Ruffin and Mark Husson are the special guests joining Life Coach Ade for "Healing the Past in the Present: Feel, Deal and Heal" on the Ask Life Coach Ade Radio Show.

The process of healing can take years, months, weeks or a moment. How long it takes is not as important as much as your willingness to heal. Are you willing to heal now? Are you willing to set your future free?!?! Say YES to the “gift” of the present moment and be made whole.

Monique Ruffin - Author, activist, life coach, and mother, has dedicated her life to living and teaching that we will change the world with a spiritual approach to all of life's experiences. Raised in Los Angeles by her grandmother, Ruffin was the child of drug-addicted, often imprisoned parents. This challenge, along with her grandmother’s life-saving love and guidance, serve as her activism’s foundation and inspiration. Monique received her BA in political science from Howard University and a master’s degree in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

Mark S. Husson is a man with a lifelong interest in the inner workings of the mind. Mark received his undergraduate degree in psychology and went on to receive his master's in counseling from West Virginia University.

    DIRECTOR JACK THOMAS SMITH

    in Entertainment

Jack Thomas Smith made his feature film-directing debut with the psychological thriller “Disorder.” He was also the writer and producer of that film. “Disorder” was released on DVD by Universal/Vivendi and New Light Entertainment. It was released on Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand by Warner Brothers. Overseas, it screened at the Cannes Film Festival and the Raindance Film Festival in London. Curb Entertainment represented “Disorder” for foreign sales and secured distribution deals around the world.
Born in 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Smith lived there until he was eight when his family relocated to a quiet island community in Michigan, which would later serve as the inspiration for his upcoming film “In the Dark.” He began to write at a very young age after reading the Stephen King novels “Salem’s Lot” and “The Shining.” By the time he was eleven, he had written a 300-page novel and a number of short stories.
Smith’s family moved to Sparta, New Jersey when he was a teenager. It was there in that middle-class town that he discovered the films of George A. Romero, Stanley Kubrick, Brian DePalma, and John Carpenter. Inspired to make movies, he wrote and directed a handful of short films that were shot on Super 8mm and starred his brother and friends in all of the roles.

THE FEELING OF BELONGING TO SOMEONE

The feeling of belonging to someone is so powerful because, don't forget it's a feeling and feelings are not necessarily right or wrong they just exist and we have to deal with them. When you meet someone you like  and I'm talking in a romantic sense, and as the days and weeks go by then you start to feel like I want her to mine or him to be mine that's the feeling of wanting to belong to someone and it just comes out of nowhere even though you set yourself up for it. I just pray and hope that when that happens to you that the other person that you have feelings for feels the same way as you do.

With that being said we have to be careful because there's so many different ways people look at belonging to someone and someone belonging to them.

Telling your beloved, "You belong to me," is common among lovers, but it is politically incorrect these days: Each of us is autonomous and should not belong to another person. Needless to say, no one literally belongs to anyone else. But can we speak about belonging in a psychological sense? I believe we can and should.

The term "belonging" has various meanings. Two major meanings are "possession" and "acceptance as a natural part." If belonging is taken in its literal sense of possession, then it is obviously wrong in a relationship, since possessing your partner implies ownership and control. However, if it is understood in the sense of being accepted as a natural part, it makes romantic sense.

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1100

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Paul Rieker from Temecula, California, an abuse survivor who's doing a study of PTSD. He's seeking the mechanism by which we can take control of our emotional assignments to the past. Re-arranging the priority of our dreams appears to be the key to placing joy and optimism where there was once anger and fear, and to replace our dwelling on the past. A troubled childhood included a severe beating by his father at 6 years old. Paul relates, "He was screaming, "I wish you were never born." This event created many problems for me in my life, into adulthood. It caused an "ADHD" symptom." Paul says, "We hear from therapists, that psychological development is damaged with trauma. This is true. In many ways, I stopped my development." He goes on, "In therapy, this situation came open. Dan Roden, who introduced me to the process which I am now terming "Abreaction, Desensitization and Emotional Reframing, changed the memory of this trauma." Paul continues, "I spent 12 hours, in trance therapy. Within the 12 hours of that 2 weeks, I was healed of my multiple emotional fixations which where the underlying cause of my suicidal fixation." Eventually he became certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, of American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, and now provides therapy for all types of trauma. Paul believes the model of 1 hour of therapy per week, per the Insurance Payment Plans, is insufficient and not the best process for healing. It's his opinion that therapy should be 2-3 hour sessions, with 4 or 5 sessions occurring within 30 days, so the problems are solved. In his experience a reduction of PTSD symptoms by 50% is possible in 30 days, with 5-20 hours therapy.
