  • 9-2-2015- Should Black People Get Reperations ?/ Should Prostitution Be Legal?

    in Politics

To ADDRESS the terrible human and economic costs of slavery and racial injustice in the United States, many have proposed that reparations be paid to African-Americans.

Would this compensate for the wrongs that have been done? Is it fair or practical to consider it? And if reparations were approved, how would they be implemented?

Proponents of legalizing prostitution believe it would reduce crime, improve public health, increase tax revenue, help people out of poverty, get prostitutes off the streets, and allow consenting adults to make their own choices. They contend that prostitution is a victimless crime,Opponents believe that legalizing prostitution would lead to increases in sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS, global human trafficking, and violent crime including rape and homicide. They contend that prostitution is inherently immoral, commercially exploitative, empowers the criminal underworld, and promotes the repression of women by men.

The G-spot with Meka Rae: Sex Work Taboo (Prostitution)

    in Women

    Hi Bedroom Playmates!

Trigger Warning: We discussed sexual abuse and rape were discussed during this show. If you or someone you know are facing abuse or rape please dial 911 or visit: http://www.pandys.org/crisissupport.html

    Human Sex Tracking Hotline/Reporting:1-888-373-7888

Why do we consider prostitution taboo? Why do we consider it more taboo for women to enter into these professions than we do men? Why does this double standard exist? Why are there laws against prostitution? Should these laws exist? Shouldn't it be a person's right to sell their body if they want...or for a person to pay for sex? If prostitution was legal...would the incidents of rape and sexual harassment lessen? Would you or have you hired a prostitute? how would you feel if your lover cheated on you with a prostitute? would you take him or her back?

#FLOTUS Will You Speak About the Wrongful Detention of Children for Prostitution

    in Family

#FLOTUS Will you speak about detaining children for prostitution? As the First Lady of the United States of America, you represent the role and duties of a woman, mother, and wife.  You have done a wonderful job of addressing obesity in our children and recognizing the importance of #62MillionGirls and their need to be educated.  However, with all due respect, your voice is needed to address the plight of girls who are victims of human trafficking and child sexual exploitation in America, many of whom are being arrested, detained and convicted as "child prostitutes."  The recent passage of SB 178 Justice for Trafficking Victims Act 2015 and the Trafficking Victim Protection Act 2000 (reauth 2013) does not prevent the detention of these victims. When girls are refused an opportunity to reach their potential, we all suffer.   Faced with the adverse collateral consequences associated with the stigma of criminal records, these women and children will be forced to resume a life of prostitution.  Will you speak about the wrongful detention of children for prostitution?

"For these are all our children, and we will profit by or pay for whatever they become." James Baldwin

Monique Taylor with Boyd and Lucinda

    in Lifestyle

Monique Newell Taylor was born and raised on the East Side of Kansas City, Missouri. She had a traumatic childhood that included violence, sexual abuse, alcoholism, and an eating disorder that started at age five and lasted until she turned 40. She was 21 years old when she started out on a journey of drug addiction that would last over two decades and take her down roads and to places that no one could have ever imagined she would go.

Over 65 arrests with four of them being felonies to include; prostitution, auto theft, commercial burglary, habitual shoplifter, transporting 90 pounds of Marijuana crossing the Tijuana border, unlawful felony possession of cocaine arrest in the notorious Mc Arthur park by dirty Cops from the Rampart Division Scandal in the 90’s,forgery and last but not least participating in a bank robbery. Her addiction took her across the United States on a drug hungered crime spree that lasted for over two decades. Her story shows how violence and addiction ravaged her family for three generations with sibling and children who were involved in murder, by self defense. It seemed like she was as addicted to Bad Boys and unhealthy relationships as bad as she was the drugs. Choosing men who drug her down time and time again.

Today she has turned her life over to God and has not used crack for seven years. God healed her relationships with her children and family, she is newlywed to a Pastor who was widowed with 3 small children. She wishes to share her story of God’s Grace as she was a woman who hated herself, abandoned her children, was in and out of prison, whose parents never gave up on her.  And now that she finally has a happy ending, she would like to share, inspire and give hope to others.
