LIF Talk with Cherie Interview with The Choir Boyz

    in Music

The Choir Boyz is comprised of five distinct vocal gifts, all having their roots as Baltimore natives. Randy Roberts, Derek Owens, Martin “Marty” Wilson, Darrell Holmes and Richard Yerby make up this gospel-soul quintet, and are an amalgamation of street life and God’s grace. Each one with a story behind his voice, has tasted life’s trials and worldly triumphs, but ultimately found redemption in the hands of God. Their history together spans over 20 years, and their unwavering belief in and commitment to God has culminated into the powerful quintet that is the Choir Boyz!

Each member of the Choir Boyz is a gifted musician in his own right, which serves only to enhance the total Choir Boyz experience. They have shared the stage with other musical giants such as Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and Kirk Franklin – just to name a few. Most of the group’s members got their start in the R&B arena before moving to gospel. Since that time, these godly soldiers have committed to writing and recording original compositions that bring hope to the masses through heartfelt lyrics based on true life experiences.

The Choir Boyz’ musical library consists of their freshman release “Ordered Steps”, followed by the sophomore smash, “This Time”. “Sing unto the Lord” marked their junior release in 2006. After a brief hiatus, the group came together with a fresh, new sound. Their recently released comeback single, “The Devil is a Liar” has been received by their fans with a thunderous WOW!

With a sound uniquely their own, The Choir Boyz convey the message of the gospel that is palatable to any listener. With their current project in the works, the Choir Boyz are showing no signs of stopping.

We women today need to understand what God's plan is for us in today's society.  God is NOT difficult.  We need to understand the women of the Bible, their trials and the understanding of the Virtuous Woman in Proverbs.  God is real and we are his tangible testimonies.  Let's prepare ourselves to live according to the scriptures of God's Holy Word.

    Finding Hope

    in Health

Mike and Joyce speak with Dana Dornsife, President and Founder of an organization called Lazarex that helps people identify and participate in clinical trials that may be appropriate for their condition.

Dana first became involved in cancer patient advocacy when her brother-in-law, Mike Miller, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003. Mike had three children, the youngest of whom was only four years old.

Dana and her family searched for options for Mike that would buy the family some time and found a clinical trial treatment. Mike was treated successfully and lived long enough for his youngest daughter to have real memories of him.

Since then, Dana has fought tirelessly for improved options for cancer patients who have been told there is no hope left.

Lazarex Cancer Foundation was formed in 2006 to build a bridge to hope, dignity and life for cancer patients and their families. It provides financial assistance to defray the costs associated with patient participation in FDA clinical trials. Additionally, it helps patients navigate their clinical trial options and provide community education and outreach services.

        - helps patients of all ages and walks of life, with all forms of cancer.
        - helps patients take advantage of medical breakthroughs today, because they may not have a tomorrow.
        - believes that the size of a patient's checkbook should not stand between them and the choices they make or the treatments they need.
        - provides resources to fill the gap that exists between when a patient is told there is no more hope and when they are truly done with their journey in life.
