Is Ignorance The Problem Or White Supremacy ?

    in Real Estate

Our queston of the day is: Is Ignorance The Problem Or White Supremacy ?

Today on "It's My House" we have a very special (law study group).........the Nat Turner 2015 vs Underground Railroad Law Clinic.

Nat Turner was a slave who started a riot, however it was not well planned with an "end game" in mind. It cost him his life as well as the lives of many others. Mr. Turner was basically LAW ILLITERATE.  Living during the same time frame..........there where other slaves who found ways to become free by becoming LAW LITERATE and when they "applied" their knoweldge the found freedom. Many people (slaves and former slaves) became "law literate" or "legally aware" via the Underground Railroad.

Rioting is a REACTIVE way to protest.  Becoming Law Literate is a PROACTIVE way to protest.

Benjamin "Paps" Singleton was a former slave who become "law literate" and became a land baron.

Some of the HBCU's Historically Black Colleges and Universities protested by establishing schools and universities.

    Community Policing in Montgomery County

    in News

In the wake of the events that unfolded in Baltimore City as a result of the death of Freddie Gray and the subsequent arrest of six Baltimore City police officers, Change Montgomery County will work together with the Montgomery County community to develop solutions to address systemic issues that are rooted in our urban areas across our major U.S. cities.

On this episode of A Miner Detail, Ryan Miner will speak with Montgomery County Police, community and church leaders and government officials in an effort to dissect some of the issues that led to the riots in Baltimore City. Ryan and his panel will discuss how to work to bridge the gap between citizens and our police force and offer solutions to address the systemic issues plaguing our urban areas.

Community policing is defined as involving three key components: developing community partnerships, engaging in problem-solving, and implementing community policing organizational features. Explore the tabs below for more information on these central components of community policing.

Please join Ryan and his guests on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. for an invigorating discussion on community policing.

Guardianship: Florida and Texas Lead the Nation?

    in Business

Join Candice and Kevin as we discuss key legislation in Texas and Florida to answer this all important question of whether Florida and Texas are accomplishing anything but spinning their wheels in the House and Senate. Kevin and I both agree that Bills proposed in Texas and Florida do not go far enough to provide any meaning reform and are largely "feel good" bills incapable of enforcement because they lack teeth. If you want to know how valuable a Bill is, look and see how many people are fighting for and against it. I promise you that the probate cartel will be screaming for it and the citizens will too if the Bill is a threat to either individual liberties or the Judge's paychecks. My opinion is the Texas Estates Code is void because it fails to comply with the minimum protection guaranteed by the US and Texas Constitutions. Houston we have a problem!  Florida, you do too!

Gospel of Matthew 5: 1 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.3  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

    Teaching the Teacher

    in Religion

As adults, we fail our children by assuming that the way to address and correct a problem is to create a rule but what we fail to see is creating a rule does nothing to truly address the problem.  In order to truly fix any issue, we need to understand that issue and only then can we resolve it.  We figure if the problem is addressed, then our task for resolving it is over but I am here to tell you today, that is not true.
