It's a serious subject that has come up a lot recently that I find fascinating. Should those who have served time in prison after being convicted of a crime, any crime, be punished further when it comes to moving on?
Now, I am not here to defend the crime that they committed nor am I going to ignore the thoughts of the victims. The story here (link below) is about whether a recently convicted rapist, whose profession is a footballer (soccer player), should be hired back by his previous club or not there for going back to his job.
This is where it gets tricky and I can see clearly why there is a split in opinions when it comes to this matter. On one side, he has been found guilty of rape, he has been rehabilitated, served his time in prison and will be released later this year, set to be put back into life outside of prison. It's what the law and prison system is about in this country (UK). Those who have committed a crime are sentenced, done their time given and set by the judge, has been rehabilitated and finished his sentence and now sent back into society. Working, paying bills, paying taxes, etc.http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.858001-Should-those-who-have-served-their-time-in-prison-after-a-conviction-still-be-punished
Mike Kabia stops by the studio for Part II of his interview. He speaks to us about his story of his life and being sentenced to prison at the age of 19. There is an alarming rate of our young men going to prison. We have to speak into them before the system does. The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy and he comes for the men first, because they are the head. Men we need you to step up and be what God has purposed you to be.
Mr. Kabia is a minister, mentor and inspirational speaker.

Have you heard of the TED Talks series? The inspirational talks have grown into a popular video series and can be an incredible resource for those looking to expand their horizons on topics they may not already be familiar with or learn a different side to a story they think that they already know. According to their website, “TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. ”
In November 2014, a group of women known as The Lady Lifers took to the TEDx stage inside Muncy State Prison to sing about their experiences. These women have all been sentenced to life in prison and in Pennsylvania there is no chance at parole. Of the ten women who make up The Lady Lifers, many have been incarcerated for well over twenty years, and inmate Trina Garnett has been in prison since she was fourteen years old. After their powerful song, the women who have been primarily known by their inmate numbers definitively state their names and declare, “This is not my home.”

ARE YOU WASTING YOUR TIME? Have you ever asked yourself this question? Whether you're at a dead end job, grinding in your career, in school, or in a relationship... are you wasting your time? On Thursday, we are taking this question to another level, ARE YOU WASTING YOUR GOD GIVEN TIME? Are we truly living as though our days are numbered? And if we are, would God be happy with your walk? Do we get up each day and live as though we KNOW that tomorrow is coming? Unfortunately, tomorrow is NOT promised. I don't think anyone will disupte that, but if we know that life is uncertain why do we keep wasting time? Are we giving our lives to God each day like our time depends on it? Listen to us on Thursday 7pm PST | 10pm EST and if you want to get in on the conversation call us at -- 516-387-1427
