Changing Perspective Can Change Results!
What we resist, persists. We've all heard the saying. And we have probably even noticed that whatever we dislike the most has a tendency to show up again and again and again. Whether it's our physicaI shape and health, relationships, jobs/careers, or finances, our patterns are our patterns. And no matter what we do within our patterns, we will continue to get the same (disappointing, frustrating, sometimes even torturous) results. So why is it that what we resist persists? And what can we do about it?
Join host, Kristine Burke, for a discussion of life's principles and how life serves us by showing us what we are resisting. And how it serves us further by showing us the path we seek—to happiness, peaces, success, and love.
in Weight Loss
The Christmas season has arrived along with the holiday fare. Most people often associate their weight gain because of the food choices they make throughout the season. However, there are holidays all throughout the year that can be associated with weight gain. Weight gain and weight loss happen all year long regardless of a particular holiday. Award-winning writer Harriet Brown set out to explore our relentless obsession with weight and thinness—with surprising results. In Body of Truth, Brown tackles the myths and realities of the “obesity epidemic,” exposing the biggest lies driving the rhetoric of obesity. With provocative prose and razor-sharp wit, she examines our tendency to find weight scapegoats (sugar and wheat are the current favorites), gives historical and contemporary context for what it means to be “fat” (making a strong case that it’s not a dirty word), and offers ways for all of us to think about weight and health with more nuance, accuracy, and respect. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host June Stoyer talks to Harriet Brown author of the best-selling book, Body of Truth, How Science, History, and Culture Drive Our Obsession with Weight--and What We Can Do About It.
