Before I became a Life Coach I came across the book Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. I can honestly say that book changed my life. It showed me that "my" thought no one elses was going to determine my life's journey.I'll explain how on the show.

Welcome to Happiness Index, this Thursday we will be talking about the Power of Positive Thinking: A Path to Happiness. Positive thinking is an ancient wisdom that when exercised inspires a host of opportunities including peace, love and happiness. Research by Manju Puri and David Robinson at Duke University finds that optimistic people work harder, get paid more, get elected to office more often, and win at sports more regularly. They even live longer. We are responsible for our thoughts according to the wisdom of Attitudinal Healing. As such, when one holds positive thoughts, one manifests wonderful experiences. When one maintains a field of positive thoughts the inevitable results are peace, love and happiness.
Practices that help you find and maintain a positive attitude are like crutches for a person with an injured foot. They support you. They help you continue moving. They are there to get you back into action and to keep you from falling down.
When all seems dark and you feel suffocated inside of your worries and your fears, a positive word or thought can be the brick that smashes through the cloudy window. If you can't hear someone say that positive word to you, if you are deaf to the encouragement given to you by those who love you and want you to feel better, then you must learn to say it to yourself. You must find the brick and pick it up and hurl it through the window to break out of the cycle of worry, fear and anxiety that attaches to us with ease when we lose focus of what really matters and who we really are. The Angels encourage us to Laugh!
Tonight we'll be talking about the power of positive thinking and my experience last week with using this technique. I'll talk about different techniques utilized in positive thinking and some experiments that were done using thought and how it affected the material world.
