SPONSORED BY THINK FREE BE FREE COACHING & CONSULTING, LLC-Inspired by Live Skilled Live Fulfilled video series' "The Bystander Effect", hosted by Joseph Ward--tonight's discussion focuses on two articles: one that tells of singer Elton John's decision to boycott posh fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana in reaction to inflammatory comments they made about same-sex parents and children who are born to alternative methods--(in-vitro, surogacy, etc.). The other article focuses on the brutal beating of a 15-yr-old girl in a McDonald's in Brooklyn, NY...in which the brutal gang-beating was captured by a myriad of video-recording bystanders who did nothing to stop the fight or help the injured teen. Matt James hails from the garden that is Yorkshire. If Yorkshire is a garden then Sheffield is the proverbial prize winning apple tree. In musical terms at least. A city producing a rich history of top acts. Def Leppard, The Human League, Mr Jarvis Cocker and most recently The Arctic Monkeys. Yet the tree still bears fruit. Matt James has launched himself onto the scene with gusto. His frank and vivid view of his life and the world surrounding him have endeared him to audiences across the county. Looking at him and his scruffy hair you would have no idea he was an ex soldier. Much like an early James Blunt but not so posh. His songs are most influenced by his Father's record collection, Fleetwood Mac and the Beautiful South being the strongest. Matt James real name (Matthew James Mclauchlan) performs a hooky narrative of subject matter important to him. If you listen close it's easy to pick out the harmonies Fleetwood Mac would be proud of and the story telling abilities of Paul Heaton. His tracks 'Sweet Satellite' and 'Summer' have appeared on BBC Introducing in Sheffield and the future holds much promise for Matt. His forth coming debut EP 'Crawl Walk Run' shall be released in the near future.
Matt will join Take 2 Radio Music on Wednesday, March 11th at 3pm eastern!

During the month of January, a portion of The Posh Mommy’s sales will be donated to Face in the Mirror.

Tonight's guest on A Kind Voice on Books is Washington DC based fiction author, Susan Coll. Her latest work is the novel called The Stager. The story is a layered narrative from a set of dysfunctional characters, set in a posh Bethesda, Maryland gated community.
