    in Photography

Rose Hartman, whose work has been published in Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and Vanity Fair, has been granted the kind of celebrity access in her 35+year career that most photographers can only dream to have. The "social historian" shot Jerry Hall and Diana Vreeland in the seventies, Jackie Onassis in the eighties, and Anna Wintour (smiling!) at Christie's in the nineties, to name a few of her widely circulated images. In 2012, a solo exhibit of photos from her book, INCOMPARABLE WOMEN of STYLE, opened at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Her latest book, INCOMPARABLE COUPLES,(ACC Editions) features more than 150 photographs, including the famous shot of Bianca Jagger kissing Mick Jagger at Studio 54 for her birthday party in 1977.

Christian jeweler can't win... makes custom rings for lesbian couple, then forced to refund non-refundable deposit. Damned if you, damned if you don't!

How long is too long to breastfeed... in public?

Hr2  Yes, everyone CAN run for President, but not everyone SHOULD! Do we really need this many candidates??? At this point, I'm thinking only successful Governors should run for President. No more Senators. We need Executive leadership!

Sec. of State John Kerry's bike accident.

Democrat Congresswoman Rep. Carolyn Maloney thinks requiring gun insurance will reduce gun-related deaths. Silly Dem. Laws don't change behavior of thugs. They're criminals! Anti-gun laws only hurt law-abiding citizens.

Alternative Mortgage Lending, Janc/Morgensen - Angel Oak Home Loans

    in Finance

Although some investors are still holding tight to credit standards, mortgage credit availability loosened last month, according to a recent Mortgage Bankers Association report.  The MBA concluded that the Mortgage Credit Availability Index (MCAI) increased 0.5 percent to 122 in April.

Of the index’s four components, Government lending saw the greatest easing and was up 1.1 percent over the month. The Jumbo index increased of 0.8 percent and the Conforming index saw an increase of 0.2 percent. The Conventional index decreased 0.6 percent.

It appears the increase was driven by new offerings of FHA’s 203(k) home improvement program, new VA offerings and new jumbo products. The increase was partially offset by some investors tightening underwriting criteria on conventional cash out offerings.”

Joining me today to discuss alternative mortgage lending is Lee Janc, a Strategy and Business Development Executive for the Financial Service Industry and Eric Morgensen of Angel Oak Home Loans.  Angel Oak Home Loans serves both the Retail and the Wholesale markets and specializes in non-conforming products.

January Jones - Music by Sarantos

    in Music

    About the Artist

Sarantos' passion for music began before he knew what the word passion meant. He began writing lyrics as a small child while "people watching" in his mom and pop's family diner. That is to say, when he wasn't working and helping his mom and pop at the diner as a cook, dishwasher, waiter or cashier! In those days, he always had a pad of paper, loose-leaf sheet, or even a napkin to feverishly write down lyrics. As technology evolved, his iPhone, iPad, and computer have gladly become the recipients of those lyrics. Do you have any idea how long it took to digitize all those songs??

Sarantos love of music is profound. His lyrics express his love of people and the world around him. While life is fraught with many challenges, it also offers many blessings. His songs span an entire spectrum of emotion. And lest he take himself too seriously, Sarantos has a pretty wicked sense of humor. You may recognize this in some of his more lighthearted lyrics, facebook or twitter posts, and even in a random music video or two...

Whether a particular song or lyric is deep, serious or lighthearted, most people would agree that it is something they can relate to as people of this planet.
