There is one thing you can count on when jumping in The Pickle Barrel, no topic is off base!

Wrapping up the morning Michael Brinkman, National Policy Director for conservative think-tank Thomas B. Fordham Institute, will be joining us with some explanations that Common Core is actually fundamentally conservative and that right-of-center critics need to take a closer look at the standards.

This week our top story is a number of polls that show the tide turning in favor of Democrats not only in the 2014 election but more fundamentally on issues and within certain red states. Then, we have continuing coverage of the Russia Ukraine crisis and other top news of the week.
At the end we will have our trademark weekly hall of fame and shame for those politicians and prominent individuals who made great sense or shameful nonsense, respectively.
If you want to write to me and give me your opinion of any topic I cover, write to firstname.lastname@example.org and I may just read your opinion on the air. Again that’s email@example.com
The real truth is the 2014 Elections for the House and the Senate are up for grabs. Congressional approval ratings for the last 30 days are still at all time low levels. Just because the Koch Bros and affiliates have spent over 30 million on ads before the primary doesn't mean the Democrats can not break through. While the republicans are fighting each other, the Democrats are not unified on what are the best campaign issues and slogans to use. And the beat goes on. The President is campaigning this year and.......
We will have a look at some of the highlights from Thrusday's Vice Presidential debate. I also want to take a look at the polls and a poll that comes out of the University of Colorado that put out an economic poll that predicts that has always predicted the correct outcome since they started in the 1980 election. And what ever else come up in the next few hours before the show will be added into the contents of the show.

“The poll by Politico shows that support for measures like the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act will be strong this November,” said Fr. Pavone. “When 80 percent of voters in highly contested states and Congressional districts say they want babies protected from late-term abortions, if not most or all abortions, it’s pretty clear who the extremists are – those who support abortion on demand.” Fr Frank Pavone with priests for life, in to discuss.
Fridays, we talk all things faith, including faith-based current events (and sometimes even that dreaded political overlap, YIKES!)
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!
President Obama gets a first hand taste of Texas tenacity during his fund raising trip to Texas. Governor Rick Perry takes it to President Obama on his "inept" ability to solve the issue. Who won the day? Who lost the round?
Former New Orleans Mayor gets time for "corruption" during and following the Hurricane Katrina ordeal in 2005.
What are current polls saying about future GOP contenders heading to Cleveland, OH?
Join me at 7AM-8:30AM this morning In the Pickle Barrel.
