    WITHROW TOO LATE TO ABSTAIN

    in News

    Withrow too late to abstain

Supervisor Terry Withrow is too late to abstain on the vote to support the downtown Modesto community benefit district.

He has already voted by investing $1000 in the NEW CITY CLUB, which is a group that organized and created the community benefit district.

The new city club will have its own boundaries, its own police force, it’s own rules and regulations, and will eventually have access to $1 million a year, in assessments on property owners.

After the district is approved and taxes are collected Withrow’s $1000 contribution will be returned.

Other club members will also have their money returned by taxpayers in the district.

Although the County and the city do not pay taxes on our buildings, they have agreed that they will voluntarily give tax payers money to the new city club.

Public properties will also be allowed to vote for the new city club, giving those in favor of the new city, a 15% head start in the vote.

Property owners are being asked to vote a second ballot because of a “technical error” with the first ballot.

We don’t know what was wrong with the first ballot,, we do know that Chamber of Commerce Pres. Dave Gianelli is making phone calls seeking support for the new city.

Finally, deputy city manager Brent Sinclair was asked for a list of the members of the new city club and their contribution. (INVESTMENTS)

Sinclair claimed that he needed 14 days to provide that information.

    The World of Hacker Guru's

    in Spirituality

Have you ever found yourself following someone just because they're popular?  How about because they've written a book or fourteen?  Maybe because your friend(s) suggested the person?  Have you ever stopped to wonder where that person got their knowledge?  Is it all knowledge, or is it wisdom?  And yes, there is a difference.

Today, my co-host Melanie Beres, our close friend Robert C. (a.k.a. If you're looking for ways to make your life better, there are genuine people available to help you, without charging for everything, if anything at all.  So now, how do you find these wonderful people?

Join us today for our discussion... and who knows?  We may open the phone lines later in the show!

Jordan Goodman--First Hand Account Of China's Bubble Economy Bursting #2740

    in Finance

Financial expert and regular network contributor Jordan Goodman is just back from China where he has seen all the makings of what he considers to be a housing bubble ready to burst. Endless residential and commercial construction, giant buildings and shopping centers with no tenants - so called Ghost Cities' - and an economy that can no longer support the massive build-up.

"What we have is a recipe for disaster in China and we are seeing it now with wild Chinese stock market fluctuations affecting world markets. The scariest thing however is that unlike what we saw in the US in 2008, this collapse will be much bigger and potentially more destructive to the world economy", says Goodman.

Goodman traveled all across China by rail where he saw with his own eyes buildings going up in cities too small to support their growth. Complicating the economic problems in the world's second largest economy is that China has no property tax therefore the only revenue cities can count on is real estate construction and sales.

Is a housing collapse in China inevitable?
How will it affect our economy?
What should the average American do to brace for the worse case scenario?
is it too late to prevent a housing collapse in China?

The Furiously Fabulous Super Gay Celebration

    in Politics

Last Friday, [most of] the Supreme Court ruled on the right side of history. Since this country was founded, an entire group of people have been marginalized and disenfranchised. Loved ones were barred from visiting their ill partners in hospitals. Basic tax and social benefits were denied. Appeals fell on deaf ears or were held up in the bureaucracy indefinitely. Today, The Fruit is proud to say that America has taken a giant leap toward equality for all. Friday's 5-4 decision to legalize marriage in all states and territories, did not come without it's share of criticism, however. Opponents decried that five unelected lawyers do not have the authority to decide the will of the American people, while others slammed the Justices for rewriting the Constitution. Some Republican hopefuls [*cough* Huckabee *cough*] even said that the Supreme Court “cannot overrule [g]od” on gay marriage. Many have lambasted the Court's ruling with warnings of [g]od's wrath or the coming persecution of Christians. To those grumbling about marriage equality, The Forbidden Fruit crew has one thing to say to you. Love wins! You lose! Get over it! Call in and tell us how you celebrated the ruling or why you think it was a mistake.
