Back by popular demand, we're bringing back Brandon Wright, Political Communications Specialist, to chat with us about the use of digital media in political campaigns. From internet fundraising to consistent and clear messaging, even the local of local races need to be engaging in the digital world.
And of course, we'll be hitting the hot political topics of the day, but will save that for the end of our show including the MDGOP race for Chair, the latest from Annapolis (Is it Sine Die yet?) and more.

Living in the south, with all its charms, traditions and iconography does not offer access into certain aspects of her history, especially when that history involves discussions around the Civil War and the Confederacy. The inability to rake through the smoldering ashes of a war fought 150 years ago, allows for a one-sided narrative that sometimes misrepresents the causes for war, the people - enslaved and free - who lived through the war and and its aftermath. Although it is a necessary, and some might add, long overdue undertaking, it is also anxiety ridden, especially within the black community.
How can parents of color approach this subject and explain to their children a war fought over, among other things, a system of that relegated their ancestors to permanent servitude?
Today, the Mommy Chronicles is on site as the Alabama State University Department of History and Political Science explores those issues by examining the Civil War history at its first Confederate Memorial Day "Mini" Conference.

I recently had a mild argument with a celebrity on Twitter. If you want to look it up, my Twitter handle is @GravityPolitik. I asked Nancy Sinatra if Ronan Farrow was Frank Sinatra's son. She said "Knock that shit off." I didn't realize she had completed an interview recently with US Magazine about the same subject.
We discussed it and she wrote back:
"It takes a lot more than this to offend me, Jane. 1000 people dead in Nepal quake is horrific, not this". @GravityPolitik @andrehewletts
I did not like the bandwagon approach people took to defend her or launch an assault on me. The openness in which people choose to respond was disarming. It increased my impressions 800x
Can you feel it? Can you See it? Our world continues its precipitous downward slide into increasing chaos and madness. ISIS is exposed, once and for all, as a proxy tool of Saudi/US warmongers in Yemen. Nepal is hit by a devastating earthquake that kills thousands in Kathmandu, and Chile's Calbuco erupts, as the 'West' celebrates the 100th anniversary of the deliberately planned slaughter of 140,000 allied soldiers in the battle of Gallipoli in 1915. 250,000 turkish soldiers also died, but they're not so important. Up to 900 people, including 50 children, drowned when the boat in which they were travelling capsized in the Mediterranean as it made its way from NATO-destroyed Libya to Italy. Wild weather continues all over, from unprecedented storms in Sydney, to severe storms across the US mid-South. Chaos isn't coming, it's here. Are you paying attention?
Political satirist Culture of Truth bases The Bobblespeak Translations on Meet the Press and This Week with George Stephanopoulos. Using show transcripts, he creates the 'most ridiculous moment' for Virtually Speaking Sundays where two members of the VS media panel respond. This segment, drawn from the April 26 Bobblespeak Translations was created and aired on.
