The Farwell State of the Union

    in Politics

Good evening, tomorrow morning on The Meter we will discuss the State of the Union address by Barack Obama. In his final address Baarck Obama highlighted his accomplishments and laid out his agenda for his last year as president in the bipartisan forum. South Carolina Gocernor Nikki Haley gave the Republican response critiquing Obama's presidency and also taking a jab at an angry Donald Trump. Also, Republicans sparred for the 6th time as sparks flew in contentious debate. Trump and Cruz exchanged blows over New York and the birther issue. Conspicuously absent from the debate was Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. Also, Hillary Clinton's lead over Bernie Sanders is slipping fast as the FBI continues its probe of the former Secretary of State. Please join the discussion at 9:00 AM. The call in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential. www.blogtalkradio.con/themeter

Police Brutality: It's not all Black and White

    in US Government

Some say, "what you don't know, can't hurt you." Do you know your rights? What should you do if you are ever stopped or approached by a law enforcement officer? Racial tension is growing in America largely because of the media coverage of black males being killed by white police officers. However, there is more to the story than us outsiders actually know...until now!

Join host Tammy Gaitor and co-host Rodney Jordan as the Butterfly Evolution show welcomes Retired Police Chief Robert Moore for a "not to be missed" episode Monday, February 8, 2016. From the cotton fields of Mississippi to a presidential appointment by former United States president, Bill Clinton, Chief Moore served as the U.S. Marshal for the central district of Illinois. After a successful tenure, he returned to Jackson, Mississippi as the Chief of Police. Little did he know, he would have to fire an officer his first day on the job. "We know that there are bad cops patrolling your neighborhoods. We want them off of your streets just as bad as you do but you all are not helping us," he recently told a crowd of anxious young people at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Chief Robert Moore is the author of the new history book, "The President's Men: Black United States Marshals in America. He is also well known for his numerous published articles in police magazines covering a wide range of topics including, Strategies for Increasing Black Executives, Racial Profiling, History of the Minority Police Officers in Illinois State Police, Solving the crisis of Black Youth in America.

Set your reminders now, you do not want to miss this show!

The War on Police Continues #LESMA

    in Current Events

A Paris police department was attacked this morning, moments after President Hollande paid tribute to officers fallen in the line of duty. The man was weilding a knife and wearing a fake suicide vest.

We will be discussing this and many other hot button police issues around the nation.

In light of recent events such as Obama's executive gun control and Alabama's Chief Justice ordering a halt on gay marriage licenses, the war on police seems to have taken a back burner in the US media. We are still focused on defending our officers.

Join us today for discussion about the realities of this war on Blue Justice today at 11:30 EST. Call in and join the conversation 347-850-8154

Election Boycott Advocates: Obomber's State of the Union Address.

    in Politics Progressive

Join us, Friday 15 January 2016 at 9 p.m. EST on Carson's Corner With the Election Boycott Advocates as we host a special panel analysis and rebuttal of President Barack Obama's final State of the Union address. Among Obama's boasts and claims were:

"...the United States of America, right now, has the strongest, most durable economy in the world. We’re in the middle of the longest streak of private-sector job creation in history. "Anyone claiming that America’s economy is in decline is peddling fiction. What is true – and the reason that a lot of Americans feel anxious – is that the economy has been changing in profound ways, changes that started long before the Great Recession hit and haven’t let up."

"The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth. Period. It’s not even close. We spend more on our military than the next eight nations combined. Our troops are the finest fighting force in the history of the world. No nation dares to attack us or our allies because they know that’s the path to ruin. Surveys show our standing around the world is higher than when I was elected to this office, and when it comes to every important international issue, people of the world do not look to Beijing or Moscow to lead – they call us."

"The Middle East is going through a transformation that will play out for a generation, rooted in conflicts that date back millennia. Economic headwinds blow from a Chinese economy in transition. Even as their economy contracts, Russia is pouring resources to prop up Ukraine and Syria – states they see slipping away from their orbit."

Our panel of speakers will confront these lies with the facts and shead light on Obama's dark agenda of imperialist war abroad and capitalist violation of workers' rights at home.
