(Heavy on the California today!) We also heard the spoken word track "News of a Strange Thing" from Rick Lupert's spoken word album "Rick Lupert Live and Dead" forthcoming to digital music venues everywhere!
We had a spoken word track-centric edition of Poetry Super Highway Live this month, though we did find time to host Michael from Birmingham, Alabama, Victor from Montana, and Steve from Palm Springs, California as well as spoken word poetry tracks from Philip Levine, Wanda Coleman, Jerry Garcia, Brendan Constantine (remixed) and yours truly, Rick Lupert, playing a couple of tracks from my spoken word album "Rick Lupert Live and Dead."
We closed out our 2015 open poetry reading with callers from Pelham, Alabama (a rousing rendition of the spoken word song "Man Tits" that your life may not be complete without hearing), Elkins Park, Pennsylvanie, Laguna Niguel, Calfornia, Evanston, Illinois, Topanga, California, and Birmingham, Alabama. We also had a new spoken word track from California poet Scott Charles. Check it all out in the archived edition of Poetry Super Highway Live!

(And we didn't get to everyone.) Also check out, at the half hour mark, a remix of Brendan Constantine's spoken word version of "The Needs of the Many", the original, non-remixed version of which was featured in the Academy of American Poet's "Poem a Day" project here.

HOW YOU CULTIVATE THIS LOVE
I KNOW LIKE YOU DO .... WATER IT
PRIME IT WITH WORDS LET IT GROW FOR SEASONS
FERTILIZE IT WITH TENDERNESS
LET IT GROW NATURALLY
THEN AFTER LOVE GAINS MATURITY
OVER TIME WE SEEK TO PRUNE IT IN STYLE
SHOW IT OFF TO OUR FRIENDS
NO FEAR OF STRANGERS IN OUR TRAVELS
KISS ME IN THE SPOT LET ME KISS YOU BACK
TOUCH ME THERE LET ME SHOW YOU MUCH LOVE
LET IT SPREAD NATURALLY
NEVER TAKE YOUR LOVE AWAY
NOW THAT WE'VE GROWN A FLOWER
TASTING EACH OTHER LIKE RIPE FRUITS
SWEETER THAN FRESH PICKED ORANGE JUICE
STAYING TRUE WITHOUT ADDITIVES
THE MORE WE LOVE THE MORE WE'LL LOVE
JEALOUSY AND DRAMA WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE OUR LOVE

Let the wife make the husband glad to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave. Martin Luther King Jr. Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times.
Martin Luther King Jr.Peace is more important than all justice; and peace was not made for the sake of justice, but justice for the sake of peace.
Martin Luther Justice is a temporary thing that must at last come to an end; but the conscience is eternal and will never die. Martin Luther
