Imani Writes is an Oakland Ca. born, Virgin Islands raised, author and published poet who found her passion for creating heartfelt storylines at an early age. As a child she would spend hours reading as an escape from her far from perfect childhood. From the black and white pages of her creations, 2D characters leap to life and place themselves within your mental realities. The characters are unforgettable and the stories are so raw, it would be difficult to define them as fiction. Her release from Artistic Words Publishing, Shug'ah, is intense, disturbing and hopeful, simultaneously. A gifted writer who locates her inspiration to design such stories, stories she labels as her "works of art", in the modest of places....life. Imani says that it's the best place of inspiration for an over active imagination that refuses to remain silent. Imani Writes currently lives in North Alabama.
