Dianna Cohen, CEO and Co-Founder
The Plastic Pollution Coalition is working to help END our cycle of plastics use - yes - END! Dianna was inspired to co-found the group by her work as an artist because her chosen material is the ubiquitous plastic bag. In one bio I read about her she writes: "Having worked with the plastic bag as my primary material for the past fifteen years, all of the obvious references to recycling, first-world culture, class, high and low art give way to an almost formal process which reflects the unique flexibility of the medium." With the Plastic Pollution Coalition, she helps to raise awareness of ocean waste -- the majority of which is nondegradable plastic -- and everyday strategies to cut down the amount of plastic we use and throw away. This show was made possible due to the generous support of The Fairfax Companies.
Years ago in the 60's and 70's a brilliant marketing campaign was launched for Naugahyde which is actually fake leather.
The ad campaign went as far to claim that Naugahyde came from the hide of an animal called a "Nauga" and the ad claimed: The Nauga is ugly but his vinyl hide is beautiful.".
And Uniroyal Engineered Products who manufactured and marketed Naugahyde even claimed that unlike other animals the Nauga didn't have to be slaughtered for its hide because they shed their hides!
Well in reality it's vinyl or plastic in other words artificial leather.
Now this word plastic is from the Greek word "plastikos" which means something and may I add someone who is capable of being shaped or molded!
Hence the title of today's message: Plastic Christians
But today, we'll look at reality because if there’s anything this world is hungering for its reality.
People are seeking reality and there's a great hunger on everyone's heart to KNOW Jesus Christ whether they know it or not..
Now get this that hunger is not only to know ABOUT Him, but to KNOW Him and to have reality.
And our focus scripture speaks on that subject.
Proverbs 21:28, “A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly”
So today we'll deal with the false witness, and the faithful witness, breaking it right down the middle.
And in essence that's the fatality of a false witness and the reality of a faithful witness.

We see the pictures, the results of the good surgeries, but we have also seen the bad of the plastic surgery. More & more people are gettin plastic surgery to fix their imperfections, even going to lengths of going through the "black market" for illegal surgery.
Tonight from 6-8pm CST, join your host, 38Dee for an evening of discussion regarding thse surgeries. Should people go this route? Should there be laws on what body parts should have procedures? Should we stick to traditional exercise. You make the call!!

The future may indeed be in plastics. David Katz is the founder and CEO of The Plastic Bank, an ambitious social enterprise that aims to solve the plastic pollution problem and poverty at the same time.
The Plastic Bank provides an opportunity for the world’s poor to collect and trade plastic waste as a currency. That's right. Plastic waste found at beaches and other waterways is turned into a source of income for our world's most marginalized citizens. What's more, plastic collectors can get access to 3D printers creating entrepreneurial opportunities.
Today David Katz, who is the President of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (E.O.) Vancouver Chapter and recent winner of the organization's Global Citizen Award, will share his inspiration for reducing global poverty and stopping plastic from entering our oceans.

On July 13th, 2015, Sandra Bland, a 28 year old Black woman from Naperville, IL, was found dead in a Waller County, Texas, jail cell on July 13, three days after she was arrested for a minor traffic offense. She was in Texas to begin a new job at her alma mater, Prairie View A&M University. The cause of death was listed as "self-inflicted asphyxiation" - suicide - with a noose fashioned from a plastic garbage bag.
Join me with my co-host, educator and civil rights advocate Sharonda Allen, as we discuss the disturbing aspects of this case, how a traffic stop for a minor offense escalated into a major confrontation, incarceration, and the unexplained death of a young woman with so much to live for.
What is it like to be Black in America?
We anticipate a no-holds-barred discussion on the unanswered questions in the Sandra Bland case and the repeated violations of the civil rights of African-Americans at the hands of police, and the callous disregard for Black lives.
