After spending twenty-two years in professional baseball -- eighteen of those in the Major Leagues -- I am now prepared to move on to a more challenging goal: working with people in our society and the world for a better quality of life.
Combined with my early life experiences growing up in southern Ohio supporting a twelve-year-old brother and a younger sister, and my long career as a professional athlete, I have been instilled with great confidence, the value of sharing, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The Baltimore Ravens will try to break a two-game losing streak when they play in Cleveland at FirstEnergy Stadium (4:25 p.m. ET.) The Browns, who won three games in a row after a 14-6 loss at Baltimore on Sept. 15, have now lost three straight and own a 3-5 mark. The Ravens, coming off their bye week, are 3-4.
The Ravens have lost three of their last four games by a combined eight points: at Buffalo (23-20), vs. Green Bay (19-17) and at Pittsburgh (19-16).
The Washington Redskins return home to host the San Diego Chargers today at 1 p.m. on CBS. A week after dropping to 2-5 with a disappointing showing against the Denver Broncos, the Redskins will attempt to rebound with a victory over another AFC opponent.

The Declaration of the Brothers (Watheeqah al-Ikhwaan) is a short, consise, yet comphensive book written by Shehu 'Uthman Dan Fodiyo (may Allah envelop him in His mercy). The importance of this text is indicated in its introduction wherein he states:
"This is The Declaration of the Brothers (Watheeqah al-Ikhwaan) for the Purpose of Expounding on the Proofs for the Obligation to Follow the Book, the Sunnah, and the Consensus (ijmaa’). As well as the Proofs for avoiding Innovation for whoever considers Islam as his religion, and the proof of kufr (disbelief) for whoever denies that; even if he considers Islam as his Religion."
The Shehu elaborates on a wide range of topics - all of which are just as relevant today as they were when he composed this text over 200 years ago!
This blessed text will be taught by Imam Na’eem Abdullah; who is a respected khateeb (lecturer) and (mu’allim) teacher in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania areas.
He is blessed to have benefitted from many scholars, teachers and leaders which in turn have given him the ability to teach traditional Islamic knowledge in a practical and relevant fashion.
For several years, the Imam volunteered - as a khateeb, teacher, and counselor - with the New York City Department of Corrections. His studies and lectures have also taken him throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Sudan.
He has authored several articles and books which touch on various subject matter with an emphasis on reviving the Sunnah (the living tradition) of Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the importance of knowing history.
Imam Na’eem Abdullah is the resident Imam of Masjid al-Mu’min (Pittsburgh, PA) & Imam of Nur uz-Zamaan Institute.
