Only the latest much publicized multiple gun murder...this time in Virginia...raises the curtain on guns-don't-kill v. gun-control-laws-save-lives choruses. Let's get real this afternoon.
That doesn't go any place. Shout over the fence.
I'm a progressive sort. Let's go to fundamentals. The U.S. is absurd in number of mass gun killings (more than 4 at a time). worldwide. What is to be done?
I'll kick it around. Call in if you are around at 2:30 on a TH. 718-664-6966.
Good Deeds presents Dr. Jen Alves, DPT, author of the Ten Commandments for Loving Yourself, and co-producer of a RI state-wide TV show, Lessons of Love, believes that wellness begins with loving yourself. She began her mission to help other women obtain a healthy self-image after making many poor lifestyle and relationship decisions because of low self-esteem. "A poor self-image can lead to poor decisions," she says. The Ten Commandments for Loving Yourself helped her to reclaim self respect, wipe her slate clean and begin her live anew. She put these Ten Commandments into a book and poster that she uses to help share her messages. She developed a curriculum and taught women in a minimum security prison for several years "The Ten Commandments for Loving Yourself should be a required course for all grades", an inmate said. Through science, with discussions on DNA, or spiritual guidance, Dr. Alves tailors her message to her audience. "My specialty is to help my listener walk away feeling special no matter their age, race, gender, religion or income bracket." . She believes everyone deserves to love their life and find true love, but it begins with loving yourself. Dr. Jen Alves, DPT hold a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a BA in Communications and a BS in Human Development and Family Relations.

Guest: Pamela Havey Lau - Friendship & Judge Sentences Christian to Jail in KY.
Pamela Havey Lau joins us for her second interview to discuss her book A Friend in Me: How to Be A Safe Haven for Other Women
Young women long for relational connection with women further ahead of them on the journey. Yet, without realizing it, many of us tend to distance ourselves from those in younger generations. Can we really have close relationships with women who have different thoughts on church, different experiences with family, and different ways of talking about God? Where do we start?
In A Friend in Me, Pam Lau shows you how to be a safe place for the younger women in your life. She offers five patterns women need to internalize and practice for initiating relationships and talking about issues such as faith, forgiveness, sexuality, and vocation. Most significantly, she reminds you that there doesn’t need to be a divide between generations of women. Together, we can have a global impact—and experience a deeper faith than we’ve ever known.
TJ Woodward, author of the book Conscious BEING and spiritual director of Awakened Living in San Francisco, speaks about a spiritual topic.
This Week's Topic: Living the Awakened Life
Conscious BEING is an insightful guide for rediscovering your essential nature and living an intentional and awakened life.
Awakened Living is a 21st century movement for people who consider themselves spiritual, but not religious, and have a deep hunger for personal and global transformation.
Our mission is to encourage and inspire the awakening of human consciousness.
It is a universal experience we seek even though we use different language and cultural interactions. A Course In Miracles is a efining book for those who are led to it. And trustme, I do not believe everyone is or that everyone ought to be led to the book though the universal experience still must be experienced by one and all. Take what fits and leave the rest, if prompted by your own inner voice come back to it. What more can I request?
