This week on The Networking Diva Hour, log in to hear some Tips & Tricks of Time Management. Chances are good that at some time in your life, you've taken a time management class, read about it in books, and tried to use an electronic or paper based day planner to organize, priortize and schedule your day. "Why, with this knowledge and these gadgets, you may ask,"do I still feel like I can not get everything I need to do done? The answer is simple. Everything you ever learned about managing time is a complete waste of time because it does not work! Before you can even begin to manage time, you must learn what time is. A dictionary denfines time as "the point or period at which things occure." Put simply, time is when stuff happens.
My co-host this week is Dr. Tonya Henderson with Gly Solutions.
Gly Solutions helps organizations and individuals positively effect long-term outcomes by looking at issues in new and innovative ways. Dr. Tonya L. Henderson is the owner and principal management consultant at GlySolutions, LLC. As a prolific author, speaker, consultant and scholar, she knows how to get things done efficiently. Venita and her husband, Duwayne, own C & J Trophy & Engraving, a family business. The couple makes it work by setting serious boundaries. Nestled between the University of Memphis campus and the Orange Mound Community, one of the largest and oldest black neighborhoods in the country. They purchased the business and property had been in business for over 30 years. The startup risk was low, but the stakes were high since they knew nothing about the awards and recognition industry. For the first few years, The Smiths didn’t change a thing. Fortunately, Venita had experience in retail and operations management and her husband had background in color proofing and lithographic photography, so they threw caution to the wind and went for it. And, eight years later, the rest is history.
Her first job, was at the Memphis in May International Festival as Secretary. That position would lead becoming its Operations Director for 10 years. That led her to become the Director of Operations at the National Civil Rights Museum. During her 16-year tenure, she assisted with two renovation projects and two expansion projects all while managing the day-to-day operations of the 40,000 square foot facility, 13 full time staff members, security, housekeeping and IT contractors. Venita retired in 2014 to focus more on the family business.
With her father owning a shoe repair business for over 30 years and her mother, who was a beautician and owned her own salon, Venita was destined to become an entrepreneur. Venita watched her parents as they worked together like hand and glove to provide a comfortable lifestyle for her family. They managed to work together as a team, like she and her husband Duwayne. Venita is the brain and Duwayne is the brawn.

You work hard in your business. One Less, One More: follow your heart. be happy. change slowly. by Robbie Vorhaus
This on demand audio series is a part of the Executive Girlfriends Group Vignette Series. Chicke Fitzgerald interviews Robbie Vorhaus. The original live interview was 4/17/15.
A marriage in trouble, jeopardized health, and financial pressures culminated on vacation when his family asked: “Dad, are you really happy?” Realizing he was in peril of losing everything he held dear, Robbie courageously followed the advice he had given clients for decades: Follow your heart. Choose to be happy. And consciously make everything better than you found it. The result: Vorhaus closed his agency, moved his family to their small Sag Harbor home, started a leadership and crisis consultancy, and began anew.
Now transformed, healthy, happy, and celebrating a marriage of more than 25 years, Robbie drew on his life’s work and experience to write a column for his local newspaper, The Sag Harbor Express, outlining a step-by-step plan for following your heart and being happy, which, after going viral, became the basis for his next seven years writing, One Less. One More. – Follow Your Heart. Be Happy. Change Slowly.
Robbie is a frequent media contributor on crisis and reputation management, public opinion and current events, featured often on CNN, CNBC, ABC News, Fox News, and USA Today.

His company K2 Design, experienced 425% hyper-growth, due in part to a unique management style that won his company the Arthur Andersen NY Enterprise Award for Best Practices in Fostering Innovation. Brad works with companies like Dell, MasterCard Worldwide and BMW, helping them to Create High-Performance Organizations that include Millennials.
Have Baby Boomers Been Betrayed?
Has anyone noticed that there is a generational divide these days? Well last month, our guest Brad Szollose really explained WHY Millennials act the way they do…if you haven’t listened to it, it was such an eye-opening podcast, I decided to bring Brad back for part 2.
The Millennial tech-savvy generation was raised on toys that interacted with them, a parent relationship that was more of an advisory role, and a school system that taught them there was no right and wrong. And that poses very real issues for business owners who employ them and Baby Boomers who are attempting to work side-by-side with them.
Difficult emotions are inevitable, knowing how to process them is paramount. Anger, anxiety and disappointment can make you feel like these difficult emotions have taken over your life. Based on her personal journey,Faith Muchiri will reveal to us how this difficult emotions can affect our behavior, attitude and relationship with others. Listen live on Tue 4/14/15 at: 8PM EDT, 7PM CDT, 6 PM MDT, 5 PM PDT: at 619-393-2852 or listen live/archived at: http://pinnacleofpraiseshow.com/new/
