Growing up as a young girl on St. John, in the US Virgin Island Teshanne Phillip fondly recalls the island women who served as her mentors. Now, with the release of her first book, Elevate, Phillip hopes to empower young women in the Virgin Islands — and nationwide — by sharing her own experiences and by teaching them about subjects like forgiveness, achieving greatness, and setting and accomplishing goals.
“I am so excited about this new project, and I am blown away by the feedback that I’ve been receiving on the book,” said Phillip.
The St. John native, who graduated from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School in 1999, today lives in South Florida where she leads a mentorship program at a foster home. Her relationship with the young women in the home inspired her to help others achieve greatness.
Phillip’s passion for the girls in the foster home is evident as she speaks about her interactions with them. Ranging in age from 14 to 17, the young women were removed from their homes due to their parents passing away or being incarcerated. Some of the teens have been in the home from a very young age.

Ms Teshanne Phillip's book, Elevate, challenges readers to self-reflect. According to Ms Phillip, "In order for you to transform into winners, you must defeat your internal struggles. This book is an instructional guide on how to overcome and conquer some of the adversities that have kept you hostage. I invite you to take this excursion with me as I share some of my personal struggles and triumphs and how God has elevated me from being a victim to a victor."
A motivational speaker, Ms Phillip adds, "This is your time! Your time to break free of the bondage. Your time to position yourself so you could reach your full potential. Your time to win!"
Ms Phillip served in the Education Industry for over 10 years before expanding her enterprise as a mentor, author, & entrepreneur. God has qualified her to change the lives of women & teens via mentorship & by sharing her journey of struggle, triumph, & victory. Ms Phillip came to recognize her purpose: to celebrate & motivate everyday women to reach their full potential.

A special tribute to a young star who shone brightly...Phillip Hughes...forever 63 not out..
Presented by Ben Manning the show includes clips from the archives rare interviews and a special tribute hosted by west indies cricket show experts Ivor Henry, Leon Francis, Audley Watson and Cardinal Mills.
Manning was professionally coached as a child until a back accident meant he could not persue the game, however - he has commentated (as a collector and devotee of the game) with the BBC and for Somerset county cricket club's radio commentary - some of which can be found on youtube. The Murali Kartik incident in 2012 achieved 13,000 listens on youtube. His proudest moment was to be coached by Norman Cowans and the late Wilf Slack (England cricketers of the early eighties ) as a child, but as an adult his proudest moment was when he attended the memorial service of the late Christopher Martin Jenkins - "CMJ" - at St Pauls Cathedral in 2013.

Phillip Waller has chosen the career path as a professional sales person. Here is his philosophy: "I enjoy the almost Instant Gratification that CLOSING a sale provides. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the workforce. Selling, is a PORTABLE skill. I need never worry about Job Security. I can go ANYWHERE in America and find good-paying work. I NEVER ASK, for a job. I am a Professional. I am NOT a Salesman...I am...A CLOSER! (Thanks, Ben Gay III) As I would PREFER to work on STRAIGHT commission, I offer a no risk OPPORTUNITY for any business that has products...to sell. My rate of Pay...is limited ONLY by me. What better Boss for ME...than Me!!! Perhaps you need a CLOSER, in your business?"

Louis Sheppard, says that It was a crazy-high number of weight that finally did it. Three-hundred and fifty pounds to be exact; that was what my body from head to toe weighed when stepping onto my home scale. It got me scared! It got me thinking. It got me doing. Scared! Think! Do! That was the action plan that would move me into a new lifestyle that I hoped would save my wife and kids from dealing with any medical issues that my obesity could weigh down on them; and it was for me too. My family looks to me for support and guidance on so many levels and now I was facing my own challenge: How would I tip the scales in the other direction I asked myself? I headed to a web site that was complete with information on diet and exercise (http://bodybuilding.com). My wife, God bless her! joined me on my new journey and lifestyle plan. Two weeks into our journey and our new way of living the life we were born to live, a close friend died of a sudden heart attack. He was 37 years old. I was deeply affected by his death. I thought of how I would be turning 40 soon and I realized that my weight was increasing of a similar way that my friends had increased. It caused me to get clear about what I wanted and How I wanted to live my life. The awareness of my friends plite, and my own struggle with obesity caused me to kick my eating plan into a higher gear. I followed Cuban-born Lee Labrada, who has a fitness and diet web site and decided to sign on to a 3-month diet and began working out. After that I started training with Jon Buettner over at Big Jon Fitness and I began to see my friend Denny Chang, who died, was hovering over my exercise equipment, cheering me on. Everyone called him Tis. I began to call that voice on my weights the Tis Effect. Visit The Tis Effect.
