Where do urban legends, conspiracy theories, and old wives’ tales originate, and are any of them true? Have you heard the one about Walt Disney's frozen body? Does Coca-Cola own Santa Claus? Do alligators live in NYC sewers? More than just a collection of folklore, PHANTOM HITCHHIKERS & OTHER URBAN LEGENDS is also a detective story, exploring the real events behind modern myths, proving that truth is often stranger than fiction. English writer and historian Albert Jack became a publishing phenomenon in 2004 when his first book Red Herrings and White Elephants, which explored the origins of well-known phrases in the English language, became a huge international best-seller, staying in the top ten of the UK Sunday Times best-seller list for sixteen months.
His follow up book Shaggy Dogs and Black Sheep was also a best seller and has sold over 150,000 copies since publication in October 2005. It became Penguin Book's Christmas best-seller - he has now published 12 books in the U.S.
Fascinated by discovering the truth behind the world's great stories, Jack has become an expert in explaining the unexplained. The success of his books has a lot to do with Albert's invention of what he calls the "ten minute read," enabling readers to open his books at any point and be fully entertained for ten minutes at a time before "going off to do something more productive with their time."
Currently hosting a series of Writer's Workshops in England and South Africa, Albert has plans for another ten hard backs that look set to continue his success for many years to come.
After the music intro stops there is silence for the first minute or so due to an error on my part because I have accidently muted myself! The show continues after this slip up...
First I go over the golden nuggets for the 14th June.
This week's show will be quite enlightening to those that understand that when we die we don't just disappear as certain institutions would have us believe.
For this week I have a guest called Elrise who will talk about certain types of disembodied Beings, or Hitch Hikers as they have come to be known.
When we die just our bodies are the things that die or 'give up the ghost' so to speak! We (the Being - that which animates the body) move on and usually pick up another baby body. Just like getting out of one car and into another one. We then live another full life and (normally) forget that we have lived before.
We will go over what makes a Being a Hitch Hiker, how to spot when a hitch hiker is influencing someone else, what to do when you find this has happened and how to handle a hitch hiker to the point of getting it to move on.
This show is a first of its kind on internet radio and will hopefully give you an understanding that there is a whole invisible world that is just as valid as the one you see every day unfolding around you in the physical (3D) world.
Please join us for a very informative show and call in with your questions.

DISCLAIMER: I'M NO EXPERT IN THIS FIELD, BUT I FIGURED WHY NOT TAKE A WHACK AT IT! YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE, SO WHY NOT TRY DIFFERENT SHIT!
I've been known to be a very random person amongst my peers. The stage has been calling me for years now, and with little experience I've decided to audition for 'Phantom of the Opera'!!!! I wouldn't say I'm the best singer, but I think I can manage.
In this episode, I'm gonna tell you what I plan on doing to get my voice prepared for auditions in September.
Can't back out now, I've told everyone I'm doing this....FUCK!!!!
