J Peterman Going It Alone? The One-Man Show of John O'Hurley

    in Culture

You know him as J Peterman on Seinfeld.  He has hosted such shows as Family Feud.  He was a finalist in Dancing with the Stars.  And he is an author of 3 books about dogs.  But he is best known for being my college roommate.

But now John O’Hurley has his own 1-man show which will open on October 30 in San Francisco at Fienstein’s at the Nikko.

The show is called a Man with Standards.  It is about half musing and half music.

Feinstein’s at the Nikko is a night club but with some cool musical heritage.

The 1-man show is getting popular again. I saw Billy Crystal’s show and it was very compelling.  Why are we seeing this now in this social media age?

    ANYTHING GOES Robyn Peterman

    in Entertainment

Bennet Pomerantz has conversations with guests from all media.

Tonight my guest is Robyn Peterman

Robyn Peterman writes because the people inside her head won't leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include laughing really hard with friends, shoes (the expensive kind), Target, Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, bejeweled reading glasses, her kids, her super-hot hubby and collecting stray animals. A former professional actress with Broadway, film and T.V. credits, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count.

Writing gives her peace and makes her whole, plus having a job where she can work in her underpants really appeals to her. You can check out Robyn's website at robynpeterman.com and also follow her on Twitter and Facebook.

Peterman Goes It Alone? John O'Hurley's One Man Show

    in Comedy

So the show is called a Man with Standards.  Explain that.

So how much musing and how much music?

You’re comedic in most things you do, but will there be some poignant moments in the show?

Is this a scripted show or can you break format and do what you feel the audience might be wanting?

That was one of the things I loved about live TV.  You are out there without a net.  This has to be such a trip because you have to pull them in from the backseats.  Will you use other media in it?

So if I go to this show since I know you, can I heckle or correct you?

The 1-man show is getting popular again. I saw Billy Crystal’s show and it was very compelling.  Why are we seeing this now in this social media age?

You’ve been inspirational to a lot of folks, including me.  Your forging ahead spirit – no matter what – is what I always admire.  We came from West Hartford with great families and great lifestyles.  And yet that was something – and you’ve said this before – you had to overcome to get in the entertainment business.  Explain that.

Will the Uber adorable Will O’Hurley make any appearances in this show?

So how much am I mentioned in the show?  I am not.  OK interview over.

Audrey Peterman, Legacy on the Land

    in Travel

With their last child graduating from college, Audrey and Frank Peterman embarked on a road trip around the country to “discover America.” Traveling 12,000 miles across 40 states from Florida to Washington State, they were transformed by the stunning natural beauty, history and culture protected in our National Parks and forests. Shockingly, they saw less than a handful of Americans of Hispanic, Asian, African or Native American heritage enjoying the Great American outdoors, or working in them. Recognizing that this problem stemmed from a lack of information, misconceptions and latent fears about being in the woods, the Petermans resolved to become a catalyst for change. Since then, they’ve crisscrossed the country multiple times, visiting 156 national parks, numerous forests and wildlife preserves; served on a plethora of environmental boards; inspired hundreds of thousands to discover and support our national treasures, and personally taken thousands of Americans on tours of the national parks.
Audrey and Frank Peterman have been pioneers in the green and conservation movement since 1995.They are among the leading experts on America’s publicly-owned lands system. They are tenacious advocates for breaking the color barrier and  integration of our natural treasures as a way for all Americans, including children, youth, adults and seniors regardless of ethnic  heritage to better appreciate our collective history and achieve a truly democratic society. Audrey’s journalistic abilities are apparent in Legacy on the Land as she so vividly describes their adventures from the east to the west coast in the national parks.

Robyn Peterman - "How Hard Can It Be?"

    in Entertainment

Candi & Randy welcome author Robyn Peterman to the show to chat on her new book "How Hard Can It Be?"
Based on a three minute pitch, Robyn secured her first book deal - a two-book deal - and has already had her first book  optioned as a movie.
Listen in to hear how this debut author navigated her way through publishing offers to author success!  She, and her book, are very funny and entertaining.
From Robyn's website: "What happens when an accountant decides to grab life by the horns and try something new? Apparently a pirate named Dave, a lot of pastel fleece, and blackmail—just to start with...
"And only I could get arrested for a jewelry heist I didn’t commit—by a hunky cop whose handcuffs just might tempt me to sign up for a life of crime. Maybe I’ve found my calling after all..."
