Romans chapters 6 and 7 speak of the believers co- death and co-resurrection with Christ which unplugs us and plugs us. We are unplugged from our old source of life (sin, self, our old identity, the law) and plugged into Christ, our new power source (for righteousness, law of love, and new identity). The old power source is still there and available to us but we need to consider ourselves dead to it (unplugged from it.). The Spirit is our invisible supply (like the dispensing of a supply of electricity).
Brought to you by The American Public Safety Training Institute (TAPSTI) www.tapsti.org, this 2 hour session will review the work of Dr. Peter Kraska and Dr. W. Lawrence Neuman and their excellent textbook entitled “Criminal Justice and Criminology Research Methods” (2012, 2nd ed.). Thinking about your application of ethics in your research project is critical to your completing enough preparation to be successful. Ethical conduct ensures that the "knowledge–power dynamic" which we understand so well in public safety generates knowledge only from credible research. As a criminal justice researcher you have a professional and ethical obligation to create new knowledge that is useful, accurate, credible, and that can be generalized across a wide population. The purpose of this seminar is to ensure you understand and appreciate the ethical implications of your research as well as the potential adverse impacts that research can have on others.

You see them all the time. Homeless people, wandering downtown, hanging around convenience stores or busy intersections panhandling for anything...money, food, a ride. I met Linda, a 52 year old, one-eyed homeless woman in Waco, TX. At first, she just asked me if I could help by giving her a little money..."anything you can spare would be appreciated." So, I reached in my pocket and pulled out some cash and gave her a couple of dollars. But before I did, I wanted to know a little about her life..."How did you come to be here?" I asked. She told me of her daily challenges and fearful nights living in the streets of Waco. She explained what happened to her and how she lost her eye. "I was sleeping, and someone swung at me with an ax," she said, as she pulled back her cap and hair, to reveal the damage to her skull. She's bouncing from place to place...one homeless shelter to another. One convenience store to another. I went in to pay for gas and as I was walking back to pump gas, she asked me if I could give her a ride. I agreed on one condition, that she would allow me to record her story during our drive. Tonight, I'll air she short interview. Call ins welcome.
Join us on Tuesday, November 24th when we interview Christy Darlington from Witnesses for Jesus, Inc. on Hurting to Healing w/Melissa.
You will have a tool to add to your toolbox when Christy answers the question: What doctrine have you found that any Christian in the simplest form can speak truth in love with a Jehovah’s Witness and show the fallacies of it? How do you do it, what scriptures do you use? Witnesses for Jesus, Inc. was founded by Christy who began her counter-cult career in 1994 when someone close to her began challenging her to consider the Mormon Church as another denomination of the Christian faith.
We will get up close and personal with Christy, and hear what she enjoys most about the ministry God placed in her heart and life, and what persecutions she has faced along the way.
Melissa get's talking every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. 4:30 PAC/5:30 MT/6:30 CT/7:30 ET
