How to Manage the Softer Skills of Your Personal Brand

    in Business

The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, from 7-8 pm ET (4-5 pm PT).

Last week we talked about how to maximize the cowbell principle, and this week we're going to talk about managing the softer skills of your personal brand.

What rings true today in a world gone social that demands transparency and authenticity is the fact that your reputation is your personal brand. And vice-versa.

But with everything so "on" and online virtually all the time, what happened to body language? Nothing actually. In fact, it's more important than ever, because we spend so much time online. Body language conveys everything from confidence to approachability; it's more honest than the spoken word.

Literally in the blink of an eye, we can make someone feel quite valued or unceremoniously dismissed. That's why developing our softer skills is the new differentiator.

Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we learn about how to manage the softer skills of your personal brand with this week’s guest: Deborah Thomas-Nininger, Founder of DTN Productions International-Hallmark of Etiquette, a "Reputation Management” training company.

Thank you to all our TalentCulture sponsors and partners: Dice, Hootsuite, SAP/SuccessFactors, GreatRated! of Great Place to Work, IBM Smarter Workforce, CareerBuilder, PeopleFluent, Fisher Vista and HRmarketer Insight.

The Ever Shrinking Personal Computer - How Small Can They Go

    in Internet

Being a sci-fi buff, I thing about technology a lot. I  imagine how it will affect our lives, what will it mean for business, commerce, education, travel and yes watching your favorite sci-fi video episode. Well recently my eye was caught by a head line that read, “HP Launches Stream Mini and Pavilion Mini Affordable Compact PCs”. These computers are small, they can fit on the palm of your hand. I immediately sent a picture of the computer to my partner Carl Weiss with the subject line saying "that soon we will be able to make anything a smart devices". Carl wrote me back saying he’s got Topper wear bigger than this new PC. And this bring up the most important question. Just how small can functional computer go in the next five year? Peppermint box size? Match box size? Button size? In this article I will explore the ever shrinking personal computer, how they will be used and where they will take us. So strap yourself in and turn on "Honey I Shrunk the Kids", so that you and I can find the limits (if any) to the ever shrinking personal computer.

    in Prayer

The Biblical record in the book of Joshua is one of possession. We see GOD'S people possessing their GOD-given possession, but not without going up against hostile forces. The Christian life is precisely like that. In CHRIST, we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing and we are complete. However, to appropriate those  blessings require faith in the accomplished work of CHRIST, along with personal effort, not in the flesh, but the disciplines of godliness - efforts such as prayer, study in the Word, meditating on HIS WORD and regular fellowship with other believers for encouragement. Join us today for live prayer at 6:00 AM. Dial 714 459-3963.
