”Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
- Calvin Coolidge

African American ancestors fought with a persistence never since duplicated. They exuded a level of faith and toughness that if embodied today by African Americans, we would own this world. But How? Nick and Erik will tell you on this week's edition of Motivational Monday.
IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED TRY AGAIN!
PERSISTENCE = the state of persisting
Persistence and tenacity is what makes businesses successful. Character is built during the third and fourth attempts at achieving a goal. Not the first try. In business, there are always many things out of your control such as the economy or your customer's financial situations. But that's no reason to freak out and make kneejerk decisions. You simply have to stay positive and keep moving.
A great quote about persistence comes not surprisingly from Martin Luther King Jr. when he said, "If you can't fly you run, if you can't run you walk, if you can't walk you crawl. But no matter what, you keep moving forward."
If you donot possess persistence you donot succeed!
Persist = to continue steadfastly or firmly in some state, purpose, course of action, or the like, especially inspite of opposition
1530s, from Middle French persister (14c.), from Latinpersistere "abide, continue steadfastly," from per-"thoroughly" (see PER) + sistere "come to stand, cause to stand still" (see ASSIST). Related: Persisted ;persisting.
Mike Tyson also put it well when he said, "Everyone's got a plan until they get punched in the face."
Tonight on "It's Real Talk Radio" the topic is "Do Women Like Persistence?" This will be an interesting discussion with our panel of 3 women and 2 men there's plenty of experiences to speak from. How about the women who dress revealing? Of course they're going to get approached and if they shoot down the approacher should he charge it to the game, or should he show persistence and come smoother next time? After all, women like persistence, right? Hmm.... This is going to be very entertaining so don't miss out.

Persistence: (Noun) The quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people
Encountering difficulties and tests does not automatically mean we're to change direction. They may delay us in reaching our goals, but they aren't necessarily a dead end. Look at trials not as reasons to quit, but as opportunities that can assist us in reaching goals. During our moments of defeat, God wants to teach us something that will help us succeed later on. Paul didn't interpret the tragic events of his life as signals to stop. He knew what God was calling him to do and was committed to accomplishing it. He also experienced the power of persistence to transform his character and give him hope (Rom. 5:3-4). We are sustained by such hope, even in our greatest crises.
