”Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
- Calvin Coolidge

Tonight on "It's Real Talk Radio" the topic is "Do Women Like Persistence?" This will be an interesting discussion with our panel of 3 women and 2 men there's plenty of experiences to speak from. How about the women who dress revealing? Of course they're going to get approached and if they shoot down the approacher should he charge it to the game, or should he show persistence and come smoother next time? After all, women like persistence, right? Hmm.... This is going to be very entertaining so don't miss out.
Persistence: (Noun) The quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people
Encountering difficulties and tests does not automatically mean we're to change direction. They may delay us in reaching our goals, but they aren't necessarily a dead end. Look at trials not as reasons to quit, but as opportunities that can assist us in reaching goals. During our moments of defeat, God wants to teach us something that will help us succeed later on. Paul didn't interpret the tragic events of his life as signals to stop. He knew what God was calling him to do and was committed to accomplishing it. He also experienced the power of persistence to transform his character and give him hope (Rom. 5:3-4). We are sustained by such hope, even in our greatest crises.

2 Kings 2:1-4New King James Version (NKJV)
Elijah Ascends to Heaven
2 And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.”
But Elisha said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.
3 Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?”
And he said, “Yes, I know; keep silent!”
4 Then Elijah said to him, “Elisha, stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Jericho.”
But he said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they came to Jericho.

Everyone's heard the "Persistence" speech, just keep going, keep your head down...you get the idea. But maybe the conversation we should be having is what actually to do when you are out there keeping the faith.
You see...persistence is only half the battle. And just because you are persistent at something, doesn't mean that your persistence is getting anywhere...fast.
What do you do when you have the desire to be persistent, but you don't know what to do next? How do you persist when the path is unclear?
In this episode of Lifestyle Makeover Radio, we peel back the layers of persistence and have a higher level conversation to help you redefine persistence's core meaning for your success.
So take a few minutes to check out today's message, and we guarantee you won't look at persistence the same way again.
