Mentoring Monday presented by 4wordwomen.org featuring Joy Eggerich

    in Lifestyle

Kick your week off with a blast of wisdom on Mentoring Monday, presented by 4wordwomen.org. This show features Joy Eggerich-

Joy Eggerichs serves as the Director of Love and Respect Now. She began her journey in ministry working as the Love and Respect Conference Coordinator for her parents, Dr. Emerson and Sarah Eggerichs. Over time, she noticed a trend: people would come out of the conference sessions saying, “Why didn’t anyone teach us this before we got married? If only I knew then, what I know now.”

Fueled by a passion to provide this information to her generation, Joy launched a division of Love and Respect that she appropriately titled “Love and Respect Now.” She has researched 18-35 year olds and desires to serve the next generation of people who are single, dating, or married.

In 2013 Joy released a 6-week small group study called The Illumination Project. A candid conversation with her father, Emerson Eggerichs, The Illumination Project was filmed in front of a live audience of 1,300 18-35 year olds and exemplifies Joy’s heart to get her generation discussing faith, life, and relationships. Focusing on asking questions to gain wisdom from those who have gone ahead, The Illumination Project also serves as a unique tool to connect with older, wiser counsel.

Joy will also be publishing her first book called, "Permanent Vertigo - How life and love cause us to question our own sanity and God's goodness." Coming soon.

Step Three, Decision Making for Rummy's

    in Spirituality

In the first step, we overcame our denial and accepted our powerlessness and unmanageability over our lives and over alcohol .We surrendered to win.

In step two, we came to believe that a power greater than ourselves was the solution, that it could restore us to sanity. In Step Three, we discover how to make use of that power by turning our will and our lives over to the care of that power.

Step three in essence is: I can’t, God can, I think I’ll let God.

The Twelve and Twelve states: The effectiveness of the whole A.A. program will rest upon how well and earnestly we have tried to come to a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood him. Step Three has to be determined and persistent to be effective. In A.A., we all have had to come up with a higher power, for some just slightly higher and for some,  the God of their fathers.

For most of us the only time we thought about God was only in an emergency, the God of 911.

The Weekly Read, Will It Go Around in Circles?

    in Current Events

New York is the greatest city in the world, so how come they can't get it right?  We will discuss the travesty that has become a world wide disgrace.  Eric Garner is dead today because NYPD THUGS choked the man and crushed his wind pipe ON FILM.  People all over the world are in unison in their endorsement of the "I can't breathe" slogan.  We will discuss this matter at length tonight.

Last week we were not able to delve deeply into the insanity circularity that is now the saga of Bill Cosby.  Believe me when I tell you, tonight Kamal and Yale will climb all up in and around that issue.

And oh by the way, report today says the United States tortured detainees during the years after 9/11 under the Dubya administration.  Did the CIA go to far?  Was Bush justified?  Can Bush SPELL justified?

Oh yeah, did Don Lemon go "HAM" on Tavis Smiley?

Focusing on the major and sometimes overlooked topics affecting us in America today, the Nitelifer Circle of Sanity examines what is going on in Baltimore MD, Seattle WA, and all parts of the country in between.  The “Media” is or isn't talking about it, but regardless, The Nitelifer Circle of Sanity is! We hope to enlighten and educate while delivering the seriousness of the issues with sarcasm and humor.  Whether it is politics or social issues, The Nitelifer Circle of Sanity will be there.

On this week's Bubble Hour, we will be discussing the difference in strategies required depending on one’s stage of recovery.

Billy Moore, A Prayer Before Dawn, soon to be a Hollywood Movie

    in Self Help

Fighting for your life and your sanity, eating rotten fish, sleeping next to a dead body, and being able to survive it all, and recover

Billy Moore and his book "A Prayer Before Dawn", which is soon to be a Hollywood movie. A Prayer Before Dawn is the true story of one man’s fight to survive inside Klong Prem Prison, the notorious Bangkok Hilton. Billy Moore travelled to Thailand to escape a life of drug addiction and alcoholism. He managed to overcome his inner demons for a time but relapsed after trying ya ba – a highly addictive form of methamphetamine.

Moore’s life quickly descended into chaos, drug dealing and violence until he was eventually arrested and imprisoned in Klong Prem, a place where life has no value. A Prayer Before Dawn is no ordinary prison memoir; it’s the story of one man’s struggle to survive in one of the world’s toughest prisons. It’s also a story of redemption in the most unlikely of places.
